Throughout the whole game, Scott's mind from Layla to worrying about Jackson to searching for Stiles. Jackson was a problem he didn't know how to deal with and Stiles was missing. Scott thought he'd be able to make it back in time for the game but he didn't. They won and they were on their way to the State Championships but Scott would have preferred if Stiles had been on the field with him. Scott was walking through the crowd in the school hallway that was cheering loudly.

Scott would be celebrating with them if he didn't have so many problems.

"State, State, State, State, State, State!" the players cheered as they ran down the hall towards the locker room.

"Stiles. Stiles. Stiles! Has anyone seen Stiles? Stiles! Has anyone seen Stiles?" Scott asked the players but they just ignore him.

Scott felt someone getting pushed against him and he turned around to yell at the person but his facial expression immediately changed when he saw that it was Layla.
"State, State, State, State, State, State, State, State, State, State, State, State!" a player chanted as he walked past them causing Layla to giggle to herself.

The brunette turned to Scott. "You were pretty awesome out there," Layla complimented him. "Thanks. You, too," he said, not thinking. Layla frowned looking at the lacrosse player.

"I mean, that's not what I meant," Scott said.

"No, no, I, um, did some pretty awesome cheering. You can thank me," Layla told him with a proud smile on her face.

"You did?" he asked her with a smile.

"Totally. Allison and I went from, 'Go, team, go', to 'Defense, defense', without a breath. I definitely brought my A-game." Scott was staring at her like she was his whole world.

"I guess we have to thank you since you helped get us to state," Scott told her.

"State, State, State, State, State, State, State State, State, State, State, State, State State, State, State, State!" a player chanted walking towards the two of them. The player chanted it repeatedly in Scott's face causing him to glare down at the guy. The guy trailed off before walking off and still chanting.

Scott turned back just to see Layla walking off with Lydia through the door.
"Isn't that just heartbreaking? Gosh, I bet it causes a lot of sleepless nights. I actually sympathize you, that's why I'm going to make this official. You give me what I want, and I'll help you get her back," Jackson told him.
