Damaged ♈

The thunder rumbles outside the bus as Coach looks out. It looks like it was gonna rain any minute now. He really hopes it doesn't because that would ruin everything.
He turns back and blows his whistle. “Back to your seat,” Coach says to a boy who rolls his eyes but walks back. Isaac sighs looking over at Boyd who's beside him. “Stop thinking about it, man,” Isaac says.“Like, you're not thinking about it too?” Boyd asks him. “Well, stop thinking about it,” Isaac says. “I can't.”
“Well, there's nothing you can do about it either,” Isaac tells him. “You sure about that?” Boyd asks him.Boyd looks to his side over at Ethan who's beside Danny. Danny frowns looking at Ethan. “Everything okay?” Danny asks him. “Yeah. Why?” Ethan asks him with a small smile. “You checked your phone three times in the last five minutes,” Danny says.
“Waiting for a message.”
“Anything important?”
“No. Nothing.”
Ethan looks back towards the three friends, Scott, Adam and Stiles.
Scott tries to concentrate as his head lies against the window of the bus. He was slowly starting to lose consciousness but his friends made sure to keep him awake.“Yo, Scotty. Hey, yo, Scotty? - Still with us?” Stiles asks his best friend. Scott looks at Stiles and Adam. “Yeah, sorry. Uh, what's the word?” Scott asks the boy. ‘“Anachronism’,” Stiles says. They were helping him study since it was the only way to keep him awake. "
“‘Something that exists out of its normal time’,” Scott tells him. “Nice. Okay, next word ‘incongruous’,” Stiles says. “Um, can you use it in a sentence?” Scott asks Stiles.
“Yes. Yes, I can. It's completely incongruous that we're sitting on a bus right now, on our way to some stupid cross-country meet after what just happened. . .incongruous,” Adam says causing Stiles to glare at him.
“Out of place, ridiculous, absurd,” Scott says. “Perfect. Okay, next word. Um, Darach. Darach, it's a noun,” Stiles says causing the two betas to just stare at him. Now wasn't the time to talk about that.
“We have to talk about it sometime, okay? And we're gonna be stuck in this thing for, like, five hours, so why not?” Stiles says. Adam raises an eyebrow at the boy causing him to grumble before speaking again, “Next word ‘Intransigent’.”
“Oh I know. . .Stubborn,” Adam says looking straight at Stiles.
“Obstinate,” Scott adds before groaning.
“Oh, buddy, you okay?” Stiles asks Scott. Adam looks over his seat at Scott who's behind them. “We shouldn't have come. I knew it. We shouldn't have come,” Stiles says. “We had to. There's safety in numbers.”
