Layla leans back on her bed as she looks over at Isaac. They were suppose to be studying but he just kept drifting off to some place. She wanted to know what's going on his mind but she didn't want to seem so nosy. “What's wrong?” she asks him. Isaac looks at her sending her a small smile.
“It's, uh, today was suppose to be my older brother's birthday. I totally forgot about it,” he whispers. “We used to celebrate it a lot before my mom left us and he died. He was the protege of the family. I guess that's why my father liked him more than me.”
Layla leans up. She didn't exactly know what to say. “Are you okay?” she asks him. He looks over at her. He suddenly begins to chuckle. “I should've been happy that he died but somehow I'm actually sad,” he whispers. “You know you can actually miss him. He was your brother,” Layla whispers.
“Yeah. I use to hate him but after being around y. . .never mind,” he says. Layla frowns at the boy. What was going on with him?
She watch as he starts to pack up his books.
“Where are you going?” she asks him. He puts his bag on his back. “I have to get back. Thanks for helping me study,” he says before walking out faster than lightning. What just happened?

Scott walks into the hospital looking around for his mom. This is so bizarre. The weather outside was bad but that was nothing compared to all the people who were all in that massive accident. He just hopes nobody dies tonight. Or that nobody is a sacrifice.
He smiles when he sees his mom. Melissa sighs as her son walks towards her. “Oh, thank God. I'm starving,” she says grabbing the dinner from him. He frowns as his mom goes to put the food on the desk. “Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Thank you for bringing me dinner,” Melissa says hugging her son. Scott chuckles knowing that his mother is under a lot of stress since she had to make sure everyone gets treated.
“Is everything okay?” he asks her. “Except for half the accident victims in a ten car pile-up being rerouted here from downtown, and the E. R. attending not answering any of his pages, yeah, I'm okay,” Melissa says letting out a breath. She was handling this pretty well.
“What does not answering pages mean?” Scott asks her. “It means that nobody can find him, so now we have to wait for the on call to get here,” Melissa says just as a woman comes up to her. Scott could see the pain was eating her up.
“Miss.”
“Yes?” Melissa asks her. “Excuse me, can I kind of please have something for the pain?” she asks the nurse. “Okay, I'm sorry. I know. But, actually, giving you something could complicate things, so we really just need to wait for the doctors. Okay?” Melissa says letting the woman sit down.
