Jing Yi had been lazing around in the library reading, when the time strike four. Si Yun came in softly, as she was afraid of disturbing the young miss.

"Miss, it is already four. Would you like to get ready?" Si Yun asked. Jing Yi closed the book in her hand as she placed it on the table beside the big comfortable chair she was seating on.

"En" she slowly got up as she headed back to her courtyard. Si Yun had already prepared a warm bath for her to take when she returned. Dismissing Si Yun, she got out of her hanfu and entered the tub.

After washing up, she changed into a simple white hanfu with a light blue stash and headed out of the bathroom. Jing Yi sat on the chair in front of her mirror, as Si Yun helped dry her hair. Half of her hair is put up into a bun, while the other half lay flat on her back.

On the side of Jing Yi's beauty table, was a sachet that have the scent of the beautiful Magnolia flower mixed with a tint whiff of Honey. She hanged the sweet smelling white sachet that have beautiful butterflies on it on her waist as she waited for it to be five.

Exactly at five, she heard the house steward Yu Gong loudly announcing the return of Chen Yu the Eldest Master of the family and the arrival of the Eighth Prince, Fu Hao Ming.

"I'm here." His voice chippy and clear. He excitedly waited outside her courtyard and for once did not budge into her room.

Jing Yi got up and headed out without the help of Si Yun. "Are you excited?" He asked curiously as they walked towards the carriage.

"En" Jing Yi smiled, Hao Ming was also smiling happily like an idiot as he realised that she had such pure and innocent side. Jing Yi looked at the carriage and noticed her brother on one of the horses.

"Chen Yu GeGe" she called out respectfully. After getting a response from Chen Yu, she climbed onto the carriage and they headed to the Central where the festival is held.

The carriage was parked at a corner as Si Yun helped Jing Yi down the carriage. She looked around at the crowd and a smile formed on her face, there are red lanterns hang up on streets, giving a glow to the street. Little shops that sold lotus flowers with riddles on them and you can get one for free if you managed to get the riddle correct.

Many shops selling cute accessories, mask and food. The children wore a pale blue hanfus as they run around the street playing with their friends.

"Jing Yi had never experienced this before right?" Chen Yu asked, he felt bad that his sister never get to experience such festivals at the villages so he wanted to make it up to her. Chen Yu saw a shop that was selling masks, and he remembered liking and enjoying them.

"Let's go, Gege will bring you to ge-" Before Chen Yu could finish saying what he wanted to, his arm was grabbed by someone. He could feel a pair of soft hands grabbing his arm, he turned his head and saw his school friend.

"Chen Yu Ge, why did you not tell Ling Ling you were here..." she pouted as she lightly swings Chen Yu's arm.

"Im here with m-"

"Lets go! I found a really good cake shop!" Ling Ling cut him off again and dragged him off. Leaving Hao Ming, Jing Yi and Si Yun her maid behind.

"I guess it's just us then" Hao Ming said as a bright smile form on his face, he grabbed Jing Yi's wrist as he pulled her towards a face mask shop.

"You don't have to worry about your chastity being in danger if we hide ourselves." Hao Ming explains as he grabbed a fox mask that have purple inkings over them and handed them to Jing Yi. He grabbed the Black Fox mask and paid for them.

"A fox Mask?" Jing Yi asked in a ridicule tone.

"Yes, I love Fox the most" Hao Ming purposely lengthen the word 'love fox' causing Jing Yi to scoff and turn away.

Jing Yi put on her mask as she looked around the streets with concealed excitement, she looked over at the street foods that the people are selling. Her eyes roamed around the different stores and caught sight of the seeming soft and spongy cupcake, that have many cracks on the top of the cake that looks like the cake was bursting.

"Wait here." Hao Ming said as he caught her staring at the cakes. He headed to the store and got 2 of the cakes that is light pink in colour. She stared at his back and felt a warm tingly feeling in her heart, however she chose to ignore it. Not again she reminded herself.

"This is called Fu Gao, usually eaten during the Chinese New Year." Hao Ming explains as he handed one of the cake to Jing Yi. She took the cake and peeled a little to try it, it looked soft and spongy however it is dense and chewy. Something she had never had before,

What have i been missing in my life...

They munched on their cake as they continued walking down the streets, buying more food along the way. Time very quickly flies and it was eight thirty, Hao Ming lightly grabbed Jing Yi's hand as he bought her to the River at the central of the city.

Everyone from the city is starting to crowd near the river. The river leads down to a bigger stream that is attached to a waterfall, the people had their hands clasped together and eyes closed as they silently prayed for their lost ones. Hoping that as the river flows down, it brings along their messages as well and one day will reach those lost one's ears.

Jing Yi does not have anyone she's mourning for, however she prayed for her dead self and the other lost souls. Her long lashes hovers over her slightly opened eyes, she had prayed finished and decided to roam her eyes.

Only to have caught sight of the one person she never wanted to see again.
