"What the hell is happening to this kid," Stiles yelled. Him, Derek and Katherine were doing their best to pin Brett down to the examination table at the Vet Clinic as he spit up some kind of yellow foam.

"He's been poisoned by a rare form of wolfsbane," Deaton explained calmly.

"Yeah, no shit!" Katherine snapped, using all her body weight to keep his legs on the table. "I think we got that part."

Deaton ignored her comment. "I need to make an incision and you need to hold him as still as possible."

"What the hell do you think we're doing?" Katherine shrieked, yelping as her hand slipped and she narrowly avoided Brett kicking her in the face. She moved to the side of the table and threw herself onto his legs, grimacing as his knees jolted her bruised side.

"Hey, Derek, how about a little werewolf strength," Stiles grunted.

"I'm not the only one with werewolf strength," Derek snapped.

"If you can't hold him still, the incision might kill him," Deaton warned, his voice still calm.

Katherine groaned and climbed onto the table, moving so she sat with her legs on either side of Brett's thighs and leaning forwards so her hands forced his torso onto the table.

"Deaton hurry up," she yelled through gritted teeth. Brett spat up another mouthful of foam at her feet, and she cringed. "I'm going to need some new shoes after this," she grumbled.

"Derek he's slipping," Stiles yelped. "I don't think I can't hold him."

Brett threw Stiles and Derek off of him and Katherine let out a yelp. He shoved her off of him as well and she toppled off the table, landing harshly on the ground. He spun around, looking for the door. Then Peter came out of nowhere and punched him, rendering Brett unconscious.

"I guess I still have a little werewolf strength myself," Peter shrugged, noticing the weary looks he was receiving.

"Yeah maybe more than a little," Derek grumbled. Peter smirked.

"What the hell you guys?" Katherine groaned. She sat up and rubbed the back of her head. "I think my brain just turned into scrambled eggs." Stiles hoisted her off the ground, and Katherine let out a sharp breath. She looked at Brett, then furrowed her brows. "Deaton!" She called, falling to her knees next to him. "He's not breathing anymore!" Katherine immediately attempted CPR, but Deaton waved her off.

He made an incision down the length of his sternum, and as Katherine lifted Brett's head into her lap, she watched yellow smoke rise from the wound. Brett let out gargled breaths, but his eyes didn't open. "Is he okay?" Stiles asked.

"I think so," Deaton nodded. "He'll probably be out for a while."

"Jesus Christ," Katherine breathed out, her shoulders slumping. She ran a hand through her hair, then frowned. "You owe me a new hat, Brett," she grumbled.

"Kat shush for a second." Katherine looked at her brother, slightly offended, then she heard it. Brett was mumbling something. "I think he's saying something," Stiles breathed.

"He is," Katherine agreed quietly. She tucked her hair behind her ears then positioned her ear just above his mouth so she could hear him properly. "The sun, the moon, the truth," she murmured so everyone else could hear.

"Three things cannot long be hidden; the sun, the moon, and the truth," Deaton commented knowingly. He turned to look at Derek. "It's Buddhist."

"Satomi," Peter said loudly after sharing a look with Derek.

"Alright I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but who the hell is Satomi," Katherine cut in.

"She's part another pack," Derek explained vaguely.

Katherine threw her hands up in annoyance. "Very helpful, Derek, as usual. Stiles, get over here and help me get him back up on the table."

Liam: Are you okay?

Liam: I haven't seen you since before the game.

Liam: Scott said you went to some vet with Stiles and Derek to take care of Brett, but I'm kind of freaking out here.

Katherine smiled lightly as she sat on he bed and unlocked her phone. It felt nice to have someone worrying about her for a change, instead of it being the other way around. She pushed her glasses up before typing her response.

Kat: I'm fine.

Kat: Got home a couple hours ago. Went and saw Melissa about the tiny stupid burn on my face, so she fixed that up.

Katherine: Thanks for checking up on me.

She grabbed her school work from her backpack and dropped it in front of her on her bed, letting out a tired sigh. She threw her hair up into a messy bun and started doing the math homework she'd procrastonating over the last three days.

Her bedroom door opened, and she looked up at her Dad with a soft smile. "Hey," she murmured.

"Are you okay?" Her Dad asked. "I mean, Scott said you were there in all the action."

"I'm alright, just a little scared," Katherine admitted. Her phone buzzed again, but she ignored it. "I'm just glad no one was seriously hurt."

"Me too," her Dad nodded. He moved further into her room and sat on her bed, right next to her legs. "You know you're safe here, right?" He asked quietly.

"Absolutely," Katherine nodded without hesitation. She kicked her unicorn slippers off and dropped them on the floor at the foot of her bed.

"Good," her Dad nodded. He stood up and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Don't stay up past 10:30, alright?" Katherine gave him a thumbs up. He rested a hand on the top of her head for a moment before he sighed, then moved towards the door.

"Dad," Katherine called. He turned around as he grabbed the door handle. She shot him a small smile. "Take care of yourself, too. You're doing great, but everyone needs a day off."

"I'll remember that," her Dad chuckled. He closed the door behind him, and Katherine let out a sigh. She did three more math questions before checking her phone for Liam's text.

Liam: You got burnt by the wire thingy?

She rolled her eyes, and couldn't help the smile as she sent her response.

Kat: Yeah, it's not that bad. It'll be gone in the morning. It mostly just grazed me.

She heard her brother drop something in his room next door, and let out a short laugh at the grumbled sentences that flew from his mouth.

Liam: That's good. I'm really glad you're okay. Me and Mason are going for a run tomorrow morning, you want to join?

Kat: Yeah, definitely.

Kat: text me a time and place and I'll be there

Liam: Will do.

She bit her lip to hide her smile and dropped her phone screen down onto her bed. She continued to do her homework, still chatting away with Liam.

Time went by quickly, and Katherine stayed up much later than 10:30.
