Fanggo awoke late the next morning. He rolled over and found his brother still sleeping beside him. It was only then that Fanggo realized just how hot Fingo was. He was slightly shaking beside him, almost trembling. He had a dry heat wafting from him and it caused horror to spread through Fanggo.

"Fingo. Fingo!" Fanggo stretched out a paw and gripped his shoulder. He rolled Fingo onto his side before Fingo's body suddenly went completely rigid with his front paws stretched out. His entire body started to shake once more as saliva foamed from his mouth. His body snapped against the ground in fluid movements and then they became more erratic. Eventually, his body laid limp as it was prior.

Fanggo grasped his brother's shoulders and shook him heavily. "Fingo, please! Wake up! Fingo!" Terror pulsed through him. He groaned as he pressed his head against Fingo's shoulder. "I-I'm going to help you! I promise!" He leaned over and sunk his teeth into Fingo's scuff. He then lifted him a bit and hoisted him on his back. Fingo draped there for a moment as Fanggo struggled to find his footing. He struggled to walk forward and out of the forest with his brother on his back.

He hadn't made it too far when he saw a shiny, black path in front of him that looked like a black stone in front of him. Fanggo experimentally stretched out a paw and felt the hot material below him. He hissed in agony and drew backwards in shock. He then thought about his brother and swallowed the fear that pulsed through him.

"I'm going to get you through this, Fingo. I promise. Just hang on, okay?" He took a step forward and placed his front paws on the slick ground. He shifted so that Fingo wasn't falling forward and took off across it.

He hadn't been counting on a pair of round suns seeming to rush toward him. He suddenly stood still as terror pulsed trough him. Suddenly, something hit him, hard.

It sent him and Fingo propelling backwards. Fingo skidded on the ground while Fanggo hit the ground hard. Everything faded out of focus and then went black.

A light showed in Fanggo's eye. His muzzle slightly wrinkled as it brought pain to his skull. A growl slightly rolled in his throat as he felt something grasp below his ear and travel down his neck and to his haunches. His front paw slightly shot out wildly, struggling to find Fingo. He couldn't pick up his brother's scent and he didn't do well when he didn't know where his brother was.

"Shhh, shhh, it's okay. It's alright. Just relax," murmured a calm voice.

It was quite strange tone that Fanggo hadn't heard before. He understood it, but it was still strange as ever. He tried to turn his head and when he did, he caught sight of the same faces that he had seen earlier with those thunderbranches that had killed is entire pack and the she-wolf that he loved.

Fanggo stood quickly for a moment as his paws slipped on the cool table in front of him. He let out a loud yelp as he fell onto the floor. It was just as slick as the ground and he struggled to walk as his paws slid about on the ground. He started to dart around the small area when he realized that he was trapped. He started to one of the corners and pressed against it in terror.

"Hey, hey, woah, woah," chided the voice of the human as he stretched out his hands toward Fanggo. Fear showed on his face as he faced Fanggo. "Easy, boy. Easy. I'm not going to hurt you, I promise."

Fanggo let out a heavy billowing breath through his nostrils. He thrust a paw against the ground and scuffed his claws backwards. A growl rolled in his throat as his lips peeled backwards.

The human's eyes drifted over to the stone slab across from him and pulled something that smelled dreadfully like some sort of food. He opened the container and set it on the ground. He started to push it toward Fanggo, but Fanggo instantly snarled even more with his claws gritted against the slippery ground.
"Okay." The human drew back once more and shook his head. "I'll leave you some time to eat. I won't bother you, but you really need to eat. You're too thin."

Fanggo leaned forward and stuck his tongue into the container and drew back just as quickly. His muzzle wrinkled in disgust for a moment before he realized that it was actually quiet good. He plunged his muzzle back into it and started to gnaw at the food. It didn't taste nearly as good as prey, but he was starving. He quickly finished it and pushed the empty container toward the human.

He chuckled. "You like that? Want some more," he asked as he grabbed another container. He quickly opened it and passed it over to Fanggo. Fanggo pulled it closer with his paws and gobbled down the container in a few chomps. He licked his lips clean of the juices as he slumped down onto the round.

His neck had started to throb in agony to match his shoulder. It was in the same place that the grizzly had attacked him and where that giant moving creature had slammed into him and his brother. He whimpered as it continued to flow through him.

The human seemed to sense it as he tilted his head. He reached his hand to touch Fanggo, but Fanggo was having none of it. He bared his teeth in a snarl and snapped his head around. Fanggo's teeth managed to just miss the man's hand as he brought it suddenly back against his chest. He scooted back and shook his head. "Okay, don't touch. I got it."

Fanggo inclined his head back and lapped at his shoulder. The texture was strange under his tongue. The pain was still there, but something thready seemed to be lodged there. He flicked his ears in disgust as he struggled to see if the same thin was around his neck. He grumbled heavily as he lifted a paw and scraped it against his neck.

Just then, he felt a pinch in his haunch. By the time he realized it, he spun around with a snarl. He blinked his eyes in surprise before he felt wooziness start to rush over him. His eyes rolled up in his head for a moment as exhaustion washed over him suddenly and his face hit the ground before he even realized what had happened.
