The boys next door

Alec

"So who are these beautiful children?!" My mom asks politely.
"Oh! Silly me. This is daughter Aliyah. But we call her Alli for short. And this is my son Alec. I actually have another son but he's at a birthday party." I finally take a good look at him and my breath gets caught in my throat. He may literally be the hottest boy I've ever seen! He has dark brown spiky hair, fair skin, and a mix of brown and green eyes. I look over at Alli who I just learned is 4. She has blonde hair, slightly tanned skin, and light brown eyes. I can tell she'll be gorgeous when she grows up.
"She's the cutest thing!" My mom says to Alli and she blushes and mumbles a thank you and cutely giggles after. "Well I'm Zia Adams and this my daughter Ridley." When I look back at Alec I realize he's staring at me and smirks. He freaking smirked! I can already tell he's gonna cause me trouble.
"How about I get us all some milk to go with these cookies?!" My mom asks Alli and Emily. Alli nods her head excitedly as Emily just chuckles and nods as well. "Ridley, can you please get five glasses down while I get the milk?! They're in that cabinet over there." She says. It's only now that I realize that me and Alec have been looking at each other the whole time. I finally break eye contact and walk to get the glasses.
"So Ridley, how old are you?!" Emily asks. Alec leans in a bit in either interest or curiosity.
"I'm turning 17 in one month Mrs. Ellison." I answer a little hurried. I'm starting to feel nervous under Alec's stare.
   "Oh! Call me Emily. And Alec just turned 17!" I give her a small smile and get an even bigger one in return.
   "Ok Emily." Her and my mom start making small talk while I just stand there awkwardly in the kitchen.
  "Hi I'm Alli!" The little girl says in a cute quite voice.
   "Hi Alli. I'm Ridley." I tell her. She gives me a small smile.
  "I brought my dolls. Would you like to play with me?!" She asks me nervously. I giggle a little before responding.
   "I'd love to play with you!" She grabs my hand and pulls me too her bag in the living room.
  "Now this doll is mine and her name is Celestina. That ones yours and her name is Lydia!" I giggle and nod my head. "Alec! Come play with us!" She demands. I laugh a bit at how cute she is.
    "No thanks. I'll watch though." He says pulling out his phone.
   "You barely ever play with me anymore!" Her hazel eyes start tearing and my heart breaks a little.
    "Well we don't want you to play anyways ! You'd just ruin our game and our fun!" I reply with a sassy hair flip. He raises his brow slightly at me and I just continue playing with Alli.

  "Hey Ridley, why don't you show Alec around while me and Emily take Alli home real quick?!" Alli's lip starts to quiver as she starts to beg.
   "Why can't I stay with Ridley?!"
  "No sweetheart but I'm sure she'll want to see you again soon. It's past your bedtime. Let's go." Alli collects her things with a frown. As she's about to leave she runs to give me a hug.
   "Thank you for playing with me! Please come see me again!" She says looking up sat me with puppy dog eyes. It makes me crouch down to reach her height.
   "Of course I will!" I tell her. A huge smile replaces her frown and she squeezes me one more time before running to meet her mom outside. I straighten up and look over at Alec only to find he's already staring at me with a look of amusement.
   "Could you please stop staring! It's creepy. Now I'll give you the tour but be warned, I don't know where I'm going." I hear him chuckle as I walk away.

   "The last stop on our tour, my room." We walks past me into my room and looks around.
   "Not what I was expecting." He says.
   "What were you expecting?!"
   "I don't know. Pink. Maybe boy band posters everywhere?" I almost gag at his comment.
   "First off I can't stand pink. Second I don't have favorite bands or singers." I lightly giggle at his at his shocked expression. His eyes wander around the room and they landed on the four bags in the corner of my room.
   "Is that all your stuff?!"
   "All that I had time to bring."
  "Why were you leaving in such a hurry?" I know he's just curious but I still got teary eyed as the memories cross my mind.
  "Shit. I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you cry! You don't have tell me." I bring my hand up to wipe my eyes and I realize that I am crying.
  "Crying women make me a little uncomfortable cause I don't know what to do so I hope this isn't too awkward." He suddenly wraps his arms around me, it's an awkward hug but at least it's something.
  "I'm not to happy about crying either but thanks." He suddenly steps away, leaving tingles up and down my arm.
  "You wanna go watch tv while we wait on our moms?" I nervously ask to try and ease the tension.
  "Sure." Is all he says.
  "You go ahead. I'll be down in a sec." He nods his head and heads to the living room. I walk in the bathroom and splash water on my face trying to calm down. I then start heading to the living room where Alec is sitting in the chair impatiently waiting for me.
   "So, what do you wanna watch?!"
   "We're back!" My mom shouts. With that we all say our goodbyes. Before they leave, Alec looks me up and down and walked off.
   Weird........
