When I got to school the next morning, the guidance counselor called me into his office. I was never a bad kid, I rarely got into fights, so I knew this would be about my writings. The guidance counselor always reads the emails, he has to or he’ll get fired.

When I got into his room he was writing something down on a paper, “You wanted to see me sir?”

He looked up and smiled, “Yes. I was online last night and I saw you and Vic Fuentes’ emails. Care to share?”

I sat down and sighed, “I didn’t know that happened. I talked to his brother yesterday and he said that he had a messed up family, basically. I was going to talk to Vic today, see if he would talk to me face to face.” I didn’t even pause for a breath, I needed someone else to know.

Mr. Charleston sighed, I knew what he was thinking, “We can’t let you help out anymore. This is our problem, now.” I flinched at his word. Problem? He thought this was a problem? Of course it is, but it’s a situation. It’s never a problem to help somebody out of fucking suicide.

“I can’t let you do that Mr. C. He needs me. I have to help, I’m too involved now.” I wasn’t leaving this. Not now. Vic can’t commit suicide, heck they won’t do anything. I had to help.

“I’m sorry Kellin it’s out of your hands now. We called his father and we are going to talk to him today. There’s nothing you can do.”

I couldn’t believe him. Out of all the people, he says I couldn’t do anything to help? He’s a guidance counselor for Christ’s sake! He should be wanting me to help!

“I’m. helping. I don’t care if it’s not with the emails but I will talk to him. Not matter what you do.”

“We don’t want you bringing this up with him. All the teachers will be watching you two. Understand? Don’t put yourself into this, Kellin. We don’t want to make things worse.” He said calmly, “It’s for the best, Kellin. Think about Vic.”

I sighed. He was right. Vic needed professional help. I couldn’t do anything, “I guess you’re right. But please, let me keep emailing him?” He sighed and nodded.

Before I got up, he stopped me, “Oh. I have something for you, thought you might like it.” He smirked and pulled out an envelope.

I gave him a confused look and took the envelope. “What is this?” I asked him and he gave me a smile.

I opened it and I read the words on the page
