Chapter 29- why us?

Gabby and Matt were sitting at the table eating dinner with everyone else when gabby suddenly broke down into tears. "What's wrong gabby?" Hermann Asked. "Baby, what's wrong?" Matt asked her. "Why is it always us?" She sobbed. Everyone was crowding her and Matt now. "What gabby?" He said. "Why is it always us?" She repeated. "What's always us?" Matt said, worry filling his features. "Everything bad. We lost 2 babies, and both of our twins. My dad shot me, we got into an ambo accident, and the car accident." She said, her voice breaking. Matt sighed as she cried into her hands. He looked around at everyone who just sighed. He wrapped her in a tight hug. "It's alright honey. You have me, and the entire firehouse family on your side. We love you, but I love you the most out of all of us. Wanna know why? Because your the most beautiful, amazing, loving wife that anyone could ask for. Damn, I'd be lost without you. I love you so much." Matt said. There was a chorus of "awes" around the firehouse as gabby looked up, her eyes full of tears. She smiled as she noticed the special twinkle in Matt's eyes. She leaned in for a kiss. There was a chorus of "oooooooos" as Casey wrapped his arms around her waist and she wrapped her arms around his neck. They kissed soft and long. When Matt pulled away, gabby pulled him into a tight hug. Everyone continued to eat dinner as Matt and gabby stared deep into each other's eyes.
