Later that night...
"Nah, it's totally fine. I'll visit my friend's restaurant. You go and enjoy your time. After-all, I messed up between you two yesterday anyway." Mayank said into his phone in an apologetic tone. "No, it's nothing like that. Yug was the one who forced you to drink and even I'm the one to blame since I was the one who was supposed to make sure that nothing like that would happen so..." Aaruhi let out her apology from the other end of the call.
"Hey, hey, hey. It's fine. You don't need to apologize. Anyway, go and enjoy your night and one more thing..." Mayank took a pause before continuing. "When you meet him, just forgive him for what he did and don't punish him in any way. Okay?"
It had just been a month since the two had met each other, but even so, Mayur had already become close to Aaruhi and was now being all this protective and caring. It put Aaruhi in wonder by the way their bond developed so quickly. As if she had actually known him since a long time. It somewhat worried her but she casted away that thought and replied softly, "Yeah, I will."
"Okay then, I'll see you later. Bye" Mayank said and allowed Aaruhi to bid her bye and to disconnect. After all the drama and the fight between Aaruhi and Yug, Yug had called her and asked her for a dinner which according to Mayank was most probably to apologize and to make it upto her for what he did. So since Aaruhi was going out with him tonight, Mayank was all by himself for his tonight's dinner.
He restarted his bike and headed out in the direction of Tanmay's restaurant: The Hot Ball Field. He would also have cooked his dinner up by himself; afterall it had been a month since Aaruhi had been teaching him more and more new recipes. However, he was way too tired to do so and allowed his laziness to get the best of him. After staying up in the early morning with Aaruhi, the tons of work at the studio and then running all around behind Vicky to convince him, there was barely any energy left to even drive in his long skinny body.
After about a half an hour drive, he finally reached the spot and parked his bike at the road side. Getting off his bike, he walked towards the entrance of the restaurant as he flicked out his phone. With the song 'Meherbani' being played in his earphones, he searched the contacts for Tanmay's number when suddenly he bumped onto something.
"Ah... what the..." He heard a feminine voice scream at him. He pulled his eyes off the screen and looked down on the footpath. A blonde haired girl lied down with a few shopping bags fallen around her. The girl looked as if Mayank had met her before but before he could try to figure out who she was, the girl continued with her scolding and cursing.
"Can't you see? Or is this some other way to annoy me?" She yelled at him. Mayank let out a hand to her saying, "Oh I'm really sorry. I should have paid more attention." She shoved his hand off and got back on her feet all by herself.
Mayank rolled his arm back in embarrassment. He had developed a pretty bad habit of forgetting the names of the girls he meet too quickly due to talking with Aisha all the time. Now the only female name he remembered perfectly was hers and the once closely related to her and him.
"What, are you not gonna say anything this time?" Gwen asked feeling a bit awkward by his ghostly silence. "Um... well..." Before Mayank could even open his mouth, she questioned next as she began to dust her faded jeans and short plain silk top. "Don't tell me that you don't even remember me." Her words made Mayank laugh sheepishly and he accepted his clumsy mind. "Well, actually I don't, I guess."
Gwen looked at him in shock. 'How could he just forget me after being such a trouble to me?' "You serious?" She asked, her eyes wide open. Mayank simply nodded and that was it. "Ugghhh youuuu" Gwen screamed at him as she gestured to suffocate his neck. Mayank took a few steps back in a hope that she might just forgive him. "Hey, I do remember that we have met and I guess you're the one who asked me to dance with you in that club on Aaruhi's birthday... I think." He muttered.
