A month later,
Aaruhi yawned, stretching out her arms as she did. She looked at the computer screen in front of her, a cursor blinked at the bottom. Above it stood the long lines of complex codes which she had been working on since early morning. It sure was the weekend but this extra assignment she was handed was a whole load of stress for her.
Her eyes trailed to the bottom right corner of the monitor screen, 3:47 PM. She sighed, regretting to be a star employee. That was the sole reason for this extra assignment which occupied her entire weekend. She placed the phone back on the table and typed the last few lines of coding. Then saving and sending all of the code for compiling, she pushed back her desk chair. The chair rolled for a meter as she relaxed in it, letting herself loose.
"Jenny! It's finally done!" she exclaimed, lazing looking at the furry stuffed Labrador which lied on her bed. Her eyes began to gradually shut down, with a tired victory smile.
"Aghhh... This just won't end!" She heard a raspy voice scream in despair. It woke her to tough life with a jerk. When she realized what had hit her, she softly smiled and helped herself to her feet. Her long hair was a total mess, so she pulled off a hair clip off the door handle and made her hair into a bun. Her fingers unconsciously trailed over a faint scar on her forearm as she headed for the door; an about to fade mark from the accident a month ago.
She walked into the living room where a guy sat on her sofa. He wore a tight black t-shirt with GOT printed in white along with blue jeans. Hair made into quiff with a side fringe, he had his legs set on the glass top table in front. A laptop sat on the bridge he had created with his legs. Sheets of paper and wrappers of Oreo lied all around him in a mess, just as the frustrated look on his face.
Aaruhi rolled her eyes at the sight of the mess. As much as she hated to do that, she went ahead and collected the papers which had fallen on the floor. Neatly arranging them into a pile, she set them on the table. She gently slapped the legs of the guy, compelling him to take them off the table.
The guy adjusted himself according to the new, more decent sitting position as he watched Aaruhi pick up wrappers. She was wearing a casual white cropped shirt with black leggings. He noticed how a few strands of hair escaped from her bun and framed her face.
Feeling guilty for making her clean up his trash, he offered her the last biscuit of Oreo, "Sorry..."
Aaruhi picked the last wrapper and turned towards him. A smirk formed on her face as she took the biscuit and handed him the wrappers. "Dosti mein (In Friendship) no sorry, no thank you," she quoted as she eased herself on the sofa. Munching on the biscuit, she commanded, "Go and throw them yourself, Yug."
Yug frowned at her treachery. Staring straight into her eyes, he lazily shut the screen of his laptop and placed it aside to stand up. Dragging himself to the balcony doors, he slid them open. He aimed for the dustbin on the far corner from right there and threw the ball of crumpled wrappers. It missed with a few centimeters and hit the edge, falling outside. He looked back at Aaruhi in his puppy dog eyes but her narrow eyed glared didn't allow him excuses.
Sighing to himself, Yug dragged himself further, picked the wrappers and threw them in the dustbin. Aaruhi smiled softly at the slothful way he was walking as he returned back. It seemed almost unnatural the way his muscular body moved like a slug. Giving it his all, Yug finally made it to the sofa and let himself loose on it, allowing himself to fall with his head landing in her lap.
"Aauuu..." she cried at the sudden drop of weight on her legs. She gently slapped his forehead, "That hurt!" However, Yug ignored her words and acted dead; eyes closed and his tongue hanging out. All Aaruhi could do was just stare at his caramel toned face mimicking death.
