PERCY POV:
Once we got to Camp Jupiter, Reyna figured out that something was wrong immediately. When she asked, I couldn't even answer properly. It was all I could do to leave without getting sick and/or killing somebody *cough* Octavian *cough* (what? he was bugging me about it.)
REYNA POV:
From when Nico shadow traveled in with the seven (minus Annabeth because she's dead) I knew something was wrong. However, when I asked Percy about it, he simply left. It was unlike him.
I asked Jason what was wrong with Percy and where Annabeth was, but his response was the same. I asked the rest of the seven and finally got an answer out of Leo.
"Annabeth, um, she died. And..."
Here he paused and tried to suppress his anger.
"And Percy blames himself. Because he tried and failed to save her. Plus, EVERYONE at camp half blood blamed him when he told them that had happened. Nobody should have had that happen. And Percy had just gotten out of Tartarus with Annabeth, only to watch, helpless as Gaia killed her! THAT'S JUST CRUEL! And now nobody will let him forget it. Annabeth isn't here to help him with his flashbacks anymore, so those are worse too. "
Leo was sobbing now.
"He just needs a break, but there's no way the fates would allow that. For any of us. And we're all worried about him. Because he's been through the most of all of us, and yet someone's he's still the strongest and the most sane. And he shouldn't have to be. He deserves a break. If anyone does... it's Percy. "
"You're right, Valdez. Nobody should have to go through any of that. " I hear myself say. And it's true. The hero of Olympus doesn't deserve this. Any of it.
