Two; Job?

"Jade I got you a job as a waitress at a diner here. You start there tomorrow." Christine states while they were eating dinner and Jade looks up from her plate.

"What?" Jade questions, a slightly angry tone in her voice.

"You heard me. You need to get one. You're going to be an adult soon and you need to learn responsibility." Christine replies, continuing to eat afterwards and Jade scoffs.

"Jade, honey, calm down. It's alright. Just try it and see how it works out. Please." James asks and Jade sighs and hesitantly nods.

"Fine." Jade mumbles and continues eating.

"I just have one question, how am I supposed to get there and get back?" Jade quickly asks and Christine sighs.

"I'm going to take you there and pick you up. Although it might be a bit later than when your shift ends." Christine replies and Jade nods, asking if she can be excused.

When her mother says yes she rushes to her room, throwing herself on her bed and almost falling off when she gets a call from her best friend, Edie.

"Hey Edie." Jade greets.

"Hey. So how is it so far?" Edie asks and Jade sighs, earning a laugh from Edie.

"My mom got me a damn job without my permission." Jade replies and Edie laughs.

"Well at least you can make some money that you can use to buy what you want to JJ." Edie says and Jade smiles.

"Yeah. I guess." Jade replies and laughs when she hears Edie's mom yell at her to come eat.

"Well I guess you gotta go. See you later E." Jade says.

"Bye JJ." Edie replies before hanging up.

"What a wonderful life for me." Jade mumbles before moving to get ready for bed.
