"We're here Jade." Christine says and Jade sighs before mumbling a goodbye and exiting the car.
Jade slowly walks into the diner only to notice a woman talking to a boy around her age and some other people that are there. When the bell rings to the door they all turn to look at her and Jade looks at the eldest person in the room.
"You're Tiffany, right? My mom got me a job here." Jade says, ignoring the stares from all of the other people in the building.
"Yes I am! Here, I'll take you in the back and help you out a little bit dear." Tiffany replies, signaling for the younger female to follow her.
As soon as Jade steps in the back she is told that today is just a day for her to learn seeing as the place is actually closed and that Tiffany expected her.
"Ok. Well I'm sure I can cook most of what's on the menu and I kind of worked as a barista for a while so I should be good with any drinks." Jade says and Tiffany smiles at her.
"Great! How about I go and introduce you to the people that are in here?" Tiffany asks and Jade hesitantly nods, not wanting to be rude.
"Ok so Jade this is my son Embry, and these are his friends." Tiffany says and Jade nods anxiously.
"Basically here's your name tag and that's all you need for today! How are you going to get home?" Tiffany says and Jade looks at her phone.
"I can walk. I don't live too far away." Jade replies and Tiffany gives her a suspicious look.
"Are you sure?" She asks and Jade nods.
"I mean it doesn't look like it's going to rain and it's not that late. I should be fine." Jade says and Tiffany waves her hand.
"Embry walk her home." Tiffany points at her son and he wines while Jade stutters over her words.
"N-No! I-It's really fine! I can walk by myself. I'm really going to be ok." Jade exclaims and Embry hums in agreement.
"See! She doesn't want me to go." Embry whines and Tiffany sighs.
"Ok so my only other trustworthy options here are Leah, Sam, and Quil." Tiffany says and Leah snorts.
"As much as I love you Tiffany, no." Leah replies and Sam nods in agreement.
"Sorry, but I have to go help Emily." Sam states, rushing out of the building.
"Quil can you walk her home please?" Tiffany begs and he nods.
"Sure. Let's go." Quil says and Jade reluctantly follows.
They walk in an awkward silence before Jade stops walking for a second. Quil turns to her in confusion.
"What's wrong?" Quil asks and he blushes at her reply.
"My house is right here. It's a bit of a walk down the driveway, but I'll be fine." Jade replies and he nods, making brief eye contact with her that causes a flood of images to rush into his mind before he gasps and nods, mumbling a goodbye and running down the road.
"Ok that was weird." Jade states.
