"Can you please explain to me what this is?"
Suho stood at the door, arms crossed as Sehun hugged the puppy in his arms. Sehun pouted, holding the puppy tightly to his chest.
"It's only for a few days, I swear," Sehun mumbled, petting the little dog's head. The puppy chewed on his finger, yapping slightly. Suho rubbed his temples, allowing an exasperated sigh.
"Sehun, you have no idea how to look after a dog. How is this one any more different?"
"Because I didn't adopt him! I went to the shelter for my shift, and they told me they were going to put him down because he was taking up space." Sehun's eyes welled with tears. "I... I couldn't just leave him. I saved him like you did-"
"OK, OK, slow down a bit..." Suho walked up and sat on the bed, putting an arm around Sehun. Sehun immediately crawled into his lap, like he always does. The two snuggled up together, watching the dalmatian puppy spring around after a fluttering napkin.
"What's his name?"
"Damien."
"Is he neutered?"
"Yes, everything is done with him. Please, we'll just find an owner and he'll be out of the house."
Suho gave a warm smile, nuzzling the younger -though much taller- boy. He got Sehun off the streets by giving him residence in his house as he caught up with school. But after a while, the two stuck together and ended up dating. Suho was a little nervous at first (since no relationships have ever worked out with him) but Sehun was perfect. The right amount of cute, smart and handsome.
Anyway, since Suho "saved" Sehun, the younger always had a wish of saving animals or people. So Suho convinced himself Sehun could help this one puppy this one time.

Suho glanced at his phone and smiled. "Hey Sehun, what-"
"Suho quick she's not breathing and I don't know what to do!"
Suho choked on his gum, nearly crashing into the car in front of him. "Wha- who's she?"
"Sunny! I found her in the park, brought her home and now she's not breathing!" Sehun sounded like he was on the verge of hysteria. "Please, dear god, come home! I need help!"
"Coming," Suho urged, gunning the engine as he flew by the cars. "I'm two minutes away- check to see if her throat is clear of anything, and turn her head so she doesn't choke on anything."
Suho stayed on the phone until he burst through the door to their apartment. There Sehun was- he was massaging a golden retrievers belly as a German Shepherd, Collie, watched from the puppy's side. Their third dog, Yin, (a beagle), hid underneath pillows on the couch. She never liked loud noises. Damien watched from on top of the kitchen table, but Suho didn't really have a care at the moment.
"How is she?" Suho demanded, falling to his knees.
"I tried everything, nothing's working!" Sehun gasped, tears running down his cheek. "I tried calling everywhere, but the vets in the area are closed on Sundays!"
Suho checked the pooch over, then swallowed his disgust and pried the dog's mouth open. Nothing there- the puppy's head fell limp onto the towels.
"I'm sorry Sehun, I have no idea-"
Collie suddenly barked, causing the two to look up. The German Shepherd whined, pawing at Sunny's mouth. Suho opened it again, and Collie simply looked inside. Sehun did his same, only to gasp.
"Wait, hold it there!"
Suho gave a frown but nodded, only to suppress a gag. To put it short; Sunny choked on her tongue, and Sehun had to get it out. The puppy hacked onto the towels for a few seconds before shaking her head and looking around. The two men caught their breaths as the puppy stood and walked to the Collie as if nothing happened.
"Sehun," Suho breathed, collapsing backwards. "Screw you for scaring me like that."
Sehun gave a breathless laugh, covering his face as he shuddered slightly. "S-Sorry."
Suho sat up and hugged the younger, rubbing his back soothingly. Two years after they got Damien, the couple started saving dogs. The two moved houses, got legal rights to this many dogs and they even had a chart of all the dogs they brought in and gave away- they were at two hundred and four. Even though some days were stressful and hard, the dogs brought joy no matter what. It helped Sehun didn't have a job; he was able to stay home and look after the pooches.
Anyway, Suho was just starting to consider giving Sehun a well-deserved cuddle session when the doorbell rang. Sehun gave a gasp and ran to the front door.
"Wha- Sehun-"
"Shh, there's a woman who wants to adopt Yin!" Sehun hissed, before opening the door with a smile. "Hello ma'am, how are you..."
"Hello Sehun, how-" she saw Suho sitting on the floor and gave a confused laugh. "Um, hello sir."
"Good day." Suho quickly slid the dirty towel underneath the couch before standing. "You're here for Yin, correct?"
"Yes I am- oh my, who is this fella?"
She smiled as Collie padded up, licking her pants with puppy eyes.
"Oh, that's Collie, she's three years old. Very well mannered, though she loves to run and play. She especially likes Yin." Suho added. The woman's eyes lit up, and she excused herself to FaceTime her husband. After only twenty minutes, Sehun waved goodbye as the woman led her German Shepherd and Beagle away. He was crying, as usual- he could never help it.
"Well, time to wash up Sunny and sign her up for a check-up at the vet," Suho sighed as they finished washing the puppy. Sehun giggled as Damien shook his shirt fur out, panting. They could never give away Damien- he made rescue dogs more comfortable, and in general, he was a sweetheart.
Two men and two dogs fell asleep comfortably after the tiring day.
