JYLAN: Just Friends?

Chapter 2

DYLAN'S POV:

I am currently at LAX getting ready for my flight back to New York. I am super excited to see Jackson, but he doesn't really know that I'm coming. We recently broke up and then I went to LA to see some of my friends. Jackson knows that I would be coming back but he doesn't really know when... At least I get to surprise him. 

I get on my flight and pretty much sleep the whole way. Once I got to NY I took an uber to the apartment. I walked to the door and I was really nervous but I don't know why. I have a key but I decided to knock on the door because I had so much stuff. When J opened the door he looked surprised.

D: Jackson!

J: Dylan, um, hi. I didn't know you were coming back today.

I gave him a hug which was kinda awkward but whatever. I walked in and put my stuff down. I found Jackson sitting on the couch on his phone. As soon as he saw me walk in he looked up. 

J: So, how was LA.

D: It was really fun, you know, I got to hang with a bunch of people and the weather was so nice!

J: Yeah, that sounds awesome.

I could tell that he found the whole situation awkward. I mean it was. We broke up like a month ago and promised to still be friends. But it's hard. I mean I still love him but our whole friendship and relationship in general was all lovey dovey and now it's just not. I still want to be friends but I miss him and us. I don't know if that makes any sense.

Jackson noticed me staring off into space thinking.

J: Woah, Dylan, you good?

D: Oh, um yeah. Just hungry. 

J: Oh, um well there's this cool place across the street if you want to go eat there.

D: It's a date... Well, not like an actual date because well you know a few months ago it would've been a date but now it's not because --

J: Dylan, I get it, I knew what you meant. Lol what is up with you today?

D: Nothing just that plane probably fucked me up.

J: Okay. Well I'm gonna go to the bathroom and then we can go.

D: OK, sounds good. 

Jesus, why am I so stupid? I just can't stop acting nervous around him wtf. And this dinner? It's either gonna be awkward as hell or perfectly normal. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.
