"Are you ready to go?" I asked Leo, placing his stuff in the small boat.
"Yea I'm ready to go, doll," He said, fixing the mast a bit. A silence hung between us. I broke it.
"You, you will be back, right?" Usually, I don't like it when guys always promised they would be back, because they never delivered. But this promise he made me an hour ago felt so real, like he really would come back. I knew it was impossible, but I just wanted to hear him say it again.
"I've told you a thousand times, I'll be back Lizzy," He said with a sly grin playing across his face. Oh, I loved it when he said that.
"Ok...get in the boat," I ordered.
"There's my bossy girl I know 'n love!" Leo joked, embracing me one last time before ducking into the boat.
"This boat will take you to where you need to be. Quick note, you need to hold tight. This baby's a fast one," I said, tears lining my eyes. I was glad he was looking away. I won't let him see me cry.
"Alright. See you later then. I won't forget," He said, straightening out the crooked mast.
"Give dirt face a pounding for me,"
"Will do, doll," He chuckled with that dumb smirk I loved so much reflecting on the deep blue water.
Doll.
"Be gone," I said with a sigh, as the ship darted away. These next few weeks are going to be terrible.

I was washing the laundry and hanging up sheets. This past week had been horribly unexciting. My mom has romanced yet another man, and I am still stuck on Leo. I can't get over his stupid face with his stupid grin and his dumb, perfect teeth. I don't know how my mom deals with this stuff.
After the laundry, I carried a basket full of fruit on my hip, and set it down on a mahogany table. Strangely, the table started shaking a little bit. What could that be, dumb Lizzy asked? I looked up, and there he was, my knight in shining armor.
Well. More like a dragon in shining armor.
The knight riding the dragon had fallen off and fell on the ground beside me.
"I said I'd be back, didn't I?" He said with a groan, a face full of sand.
"Oh my gods! Oh my gods! I can't, oh my gods I can't believe you actually!" I couldn't finish my sentence, I was so overwhelmed with feelings of relief. We hugged for a bit, and then Leo let go and shook off all the sand.
"This is Festus. My happy golden dragon!" He cheered as the beast flew down. I giggled in delight.
"I love him! You really are the best builder in town." I said, patting the side of Festus' belly. Leo looked on in amusement as I checked out the golden exterior, amazed by it's shine.
"Now that I'm back, we should probably blow this joint. I wanna show you around Camp Half-Blood," He said, opening up a panel on Festus and messing around with the gears.
"Sounds cool. Do I have any siblings?" I asked, gathering up the few supplies I chose to bring with me.
He rolled his eyes, "You haven't heard of Percy freaking Jackson?"
"Oh. Right," My voice got icy cold and I looked down. The boy that had broken my mom's heart. The devil was my BROTHER.
"He, He came here, didn't he?" Leo guessed, tightening the saddle and adjusting the straps.
"Calypso didn't stop crying for days," I said, "And he promised he would be back. He filled her head with hopes of a relationship, something she'd never had. I kinda hate the guy for that,"
Leo sighed and placed a hand on my shoulder, "You'll like him, I promise. He's gotten a lot better since sophomore year,"
"If you say so."
aaaA this is kinda short, sorry.
Dunno what else to say.
