Toni's POV

3 days went by since the incident in the bathroom.

We hadn't talked since then.

I didn't know what she was feeling or what all that meant.

You have to ask her out.

As soon as possible.

So i worked everyday until late at night.

I did not think that it would took so long to raise enough money for all the things i wanted to give Cheryl and surprise her with.

I hate my uncle.

Half of the money? Wtf.

But it was worth it.

She was worth it.

After 4 exhausting days and late shifts at White Wyrm i had all the money i needed together.

I prepared everything till midnight.

Tomorrow is the day.

The next day:

I woke up at 5 am.

Too early... but i was too excited to fall asleep again.

I did my everyday morning routine and was ready to go at 6.

School starts at 7.

Perfect.

Enough time to get the roses.

After getting a huge rosebush i continued to go to school.

I would wait for Cheryl at the parking spot.

She's always half an hour earlier there.

Arrived at school i waited.

And there i saw her red car driving in her usual Park spot.

Oh and how beautiful she was.

Her hair were in perfect curls laying down her shoulders.

Her lips ... oh so perfect lips were painted with her red lipstick everyone knows.

She got out the car with such elegance i have never seen.

You're so in love.

And in that moment i knew... all the work... all those late shifts... it was worth it.

Because it was for her.

But then i saw Reggie approaching Cheryl. My girl.

They talked... well or rather he talked to her.

It looked like he asked her something and she would think about something.

After a few seconds she nodded and i saw her lips forming a "ok".

What the fuck are they talking about.

Oh god i must looked so stupid, staying there with a bunch of roses , clearly staring at Cheryl who was talking to fucking Reggie.

I saw her blushing as Reggie said one last thing after going back to his boys which slapped him on the back and whistled as if he had won a fucking Oscar.

What was going on.

And why smiled Cheryl.

And why could nobody see that this smile was everything but not her true smile.

"She said yes?" I heard a bulldog.

Yes? What the fuck. What's going on here?

"Yap... we will meet today at Pops", Reggie said proudly.

Wait.

Meet at Pops?

Since when were they friends?

"Shit ... Mantle ... you got the jackpot. A date with the queen bee ... woah you are my man!"

A date? A fucking date?

He , Reggie Mantle , asked her out.

And she said yes?

Pain run through me and a tear run down my cheek.

All the work. All the preparations. For nothing?

My heart arched. It felt like it was broke in two.

I dropped the rose bush and walked away.

I had to go any where else.

Cheryl's POV

I looked to the ground.

Reggie Mantle and me.

That would never work.

I knew it , but i needed somebody to forget the one, i only and truly wanted.

Toni.

I looked up just to see a crying Toni walking, no scratch that... running past me.

Her scent reached my nose.

Home.

Why was she crying?

What happened?

But then i saw them.

30 roses laid on the ground.

I love roses.

I needed not more than a few seconds to count one and one together.

She wanted to ask me out.

Fuck.

What have i done.
