I jolt up in bed as soon as I hear the screen door close. The room is pitch black and I hear soft snores escaping Luke's full lips.
Trying not to wake him I slowly climb off the bed. I fail at trying not to wake him as he stirs.
I curse under my breath as I stand up.
"Quinn? Where you going?" Luke mumbles through sleep. He sits up and rubs his eyes while yawning.
"Mum and Isaac's home. I'm just going to say hi and grab some dinner. I'll bring the food up." I say with a smile and head down stairs.
Walking into the hallway to the kitchen I hear mum and Isaac.
"You know how much I love you." Mum says to Isaac.
Oh god. I'm gonna be sick.
"I love you too." I hear Isaac say back, in a lovey dovey way, that I want to gag.
"Hey. Your home." I say, startling them.
"Oh, Quinn. We see you there." Mum says jumping down from the counter.
"Gathered that." I pretend to gag. "I'm just getting dinner for Luke and me and then you can go back to what ever you were doing." I gesture a circle towards them and the counter.
Mum looks down at her feet uncomfortably.
How do you think I feel?
I grab two plates and fill them with rice and currie sausages.
"I'll leave you two alone." I say heading towards the stairs as fast as I could.
"Hey Quinn, did you say Luke was here, as in, in Port Macquarie?" Mum asks when I reach the bottom of the stair case.
"Yes she did." Someone said from the top of the stair case.
Luke.
"Luke. I didn't know you were in Port Macquarie." My mum says with excitement. I roll my eyes I stomp up stairs and grab Luke by the arm and drag him into my room, slamming the door.
"What was that about?" Luke asks
"You don't want to know." I reply.
"Ohh. Well then." Luke replies knowingly and rubs the back of his neck nervously.
"Yeah, not something a 17 year old wants to walk in on. Expecially being your mum and stepdad."
"So...we going to eat or what?" Luke says, eager to eat the food.
I hand him his plate and start eating my food too.
After eating we watch another episode of Friends.
After the episode finished Luke goes home and I'm left with just my thoughts.
