So I'm quite happy with the response this is getting but I'd like for there to be more reads. But then again there's hardly two chapters so far so we'll see. ;)
Chapter 3
------------
"It's not natural, Lou." His mum pleaded with him.
"Mum, it's not like I wanted them!" Louis said, rubbing his hands over his face, frustrated.
When his parents ran into his room, his mother's face turned from worried to disgust quickly. She glared at the things on his back, like she hoped if she stared enough, they'd burst into flames and disappear.
But they didn't.
Louis shifted uncomfortably from the new weight on his back. This could take some getting used to.
He didn't know if they would go on their own or if they stayed outside for the world to see.
His mind flashed back to the girl. Is this why they did that to her?
Because she had wings? What would they do when they found out about his?
He didn't want to find out....
"Louis. Either you put them away or I do it for you." His father gestured towards his wings.
His parents were not getting this! He had no idea how to put the wings away. He'd been trying to explain that to them for over an hour now. So far he hasn't made progress.
"Dad I told you. I don't know how!" Louis exclaimed.
"Don't lie to me, Louis!" Louis' dad hissed, through gritted teeth.
"Why didn't you tell us about this, love?" His mother asked quietly.
"Mum!! I've told you! It literally just happened." This was getting old.
Louis dad stalked over to his son and pulled at the wings, hard. Louis screamed and, panicked, pushed him away. His back stung in pain. His father stumbled back and stared heartlessly at him.
"Pack your bags," he said and without another word, he walked out.
Louis sat there gaping. He felt his eyes burn with tears. He turned to his mum, silently pleading with his eyes. She simply stared at him with the same cold expression as his father. She got up and went to Louis's closet and pulled out his suitcase. Then she left with no word.
Louis felt the hot tears down his cheeks.
They were his parents, for crying out loud! They're supposed to accept him no matter what. Louis wiped the tears and stood, grabbing what he could and throwing it into the suitcase.
He could hear yelling outside.
"WELL, WHAT DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD DO ABOUT IT?!" He heard his dad screaming.
He heard his mum talking in a hushed voice and then it was quiet.
Louis zipped up the suitcase and pulled it next to the door. He walked into the bathroom that was in his room and stared at his reflection. The wings didn't even fit the mirror. Louis pulled at the feathers he could reach. They were surprisingly soft and fluffy, even though they were still caked in his dried blood. He stripped off the remainder of his clothes and walked into the shower.
The wings immediately flexed out on their own and the blood stared to rinse out.
He stood under the water as thoughts raced through his head.
Where would he go? He couldn't go to Stan's. He would freak out and get scared.
What about Ed? His mum was a nurse though. She'd probably want to cut into him and rip into his molecules and tear them to pieces.
