"COLE!"
Suddenly Cole's figure comes barreling off the edge. Soon, the reality of the situation hit Noah and he scrambles to reach his brother's falling figure. Sadly, he overshot the boy, and Cole landed smack dab on top of Noah, sending both of them spiraling over into the water boarder. Water surrounded the boys on all sides; constricting their breathing and caging them like animals.
Something thick and slick wrapped around Noah's wrist, pulling his up swiftly. His grip on Cole faltered slightly but still stayed strong as he was pulled up harshly. Once out of the water, Noah and Cole started coughing up water. Cole quickly recovered and jumped up from his position on the dirt. "YOU BASTARD!" The boy screamed out loudly to the snake, pulling a still coughing Noah up alongside with him. "RUN!" He shouted, dragging the (slightly) smaller boy behind him.
Perigo's thick tail wrapped around Noah and brought him closer as the snake hissed lowly at Cole. "Stop." The snake stopped at his loves words. "Paixão," Perigo cooed, burying his face into the crook of Noah's neck, softly flicking his tongue to 'breathe' in the small boy's scent. The blue-haired male shifted slightly to get more comfortable in the larger males arms before looking to his brother.
"What's going on?" Cole asked hesitantly. For a scrawny, tiny, nerd he sure was brave. "In all honesty, I don't know," Noah breathed out, "But he won't hurt you." Cole nodded at the boy's words. He seemed to relax a little bit, but not much. "It's called mating, Paixão. Tell him." Noah stiffly nodded eyes locking on to his brothers. "He said its called 'mating.'"
"Really? Really?" Noah nodded suspiciously. "I TOOK A LEAP OF FAITH FOR YOU, BITCH, AND THIS IS WHAT I GET?! WHAT WAS IT ALL FOR~~! Where did my innocent muffin go?" Cole whined out dramatically. Perigo chuckled softly into Noah's neck. "You understand him?" Noah whispered to the snake, smiling softly. "No, but I can hear the drama. It's practically radiating off him." Noah laughed softly and turned back to his brother.
"This is Perigo by the way." The small boy squeaked out as the aforementioned locked him in a bone crushing hip squeeze from behind. "Right, Perigo. Doesn't that mean danger?" Cole questioned slightly. "What does Perigo mean?" Noah whispered to the snake. "Danger." Noah nodded. "You really are smart. It does mean danger. I don't know what language though."
"Portuguese." was all Cole answered coldly. "You brainiac." Noah shook his head and pried Perigo's hands off his waist. The snake let out a needy whine at the loss of heat. Both Noah and Cole burst out laughing at the snake's childish antics. "I think you caught yourself a keeper." Cole winked. "More like he caught me." We both started to laugh again and sat on the dirt.
Perigo slithered over and laid his head down onto Noah's lap silently, letting the brothers converse in peace. He snuggled gently into the smaller male's lap and drifted off. Soon, fingers made their way into his hair, and he was set off purring like a kitten. Two laughs sounded out loudly in the enclosure.
"Shut up." Perigo snuffed out. "He said 'shut up.'" Yet again both sitting males laughed. After a few minutes of bliss on all three parts, doom came. "CAREFUL! HE'S DANGEROUS." A guard who got into the enclosure shouted. "Yeah, that's his name." Noah rolled his eyes. "Ohhhhhhhh, getting snappy? This isn't like you." Cole laughed out. "Yeah, I think it's the species changes getting to me." Cole nodded in understanding.
"We might as well go with them and explain everything, just get it out of the way." Noah nodded in understanding. Perigo was scowling at the guards when Noah stood suddenly, catching him by surprise and making him tumble. "Where are you going?"
"I'm going to try to talk something out. Make them understand this insanity. I'll be back." Perigo's eyes darkened. "You better. Tell me if they hurt you, I'll kill them for you." Noah chuckled and nodded before kissing Perigo's forehead and whispering a soft goodbye.
Guards seemed on edge but still as Cole and Noah walked over. The boys were still talking as they walked by the guards and to the open exit. "You do realize, there are scales all over your body, right?" Noah sighed. "I figures. I can feel them." Cole nodded along as the boys continued walking to a group of people in the white control room.
"Are your clothes dried yet?" Cole asked. "Kinda. You?" Cole just nodded slowly. "What's wrong."
"My socks are wet."
Noah lost it. He fell to the floor crying and begging for air. Cole's expression was just too amazing. "Oh my god!" Noah laughed out for what felt like hours but was only a few moments. Once Noah had stood up, Cole let out a breathy laugh. "I think I like this you better. Perigo is good for you." Noah looked at Cole happily. "Does this mean you'll come visit?"
"You bet your ass i'm coming to visit!" He yelled out dramatically. "In all honesty, everyone thought you were in," he paused, "danger." Noah facepalmed. "Stop." Cole pursed his lips and nodded slowly. "Seriously, though. We all thought you were brainwashed into jumping in. Maybe he would eat you! We were worried." Noah smiled. "There's nothing to worry about."
"I can see that now. I trust him." Noah looked skeptical. "Really? You trust the snake?" Cole chuckled. "I trust him with not breaking or killing you." Both males laughed again. "I hope we can convince everyone you guys work."
"Me too. Oh, and by the way, you're the best brother in the world. This must be so weird." Cole laughed. "Noooooooooooo~~ happens alllllllllll the time." Both males walked down the hall laughing and joking. "COLE! NOAH!" The large family turned around once they heard the names spill from their mother's mouth. "Thank god you're both okay! We thought that monster would kill you!" Alison cried out.
"Yeah," Noah paused, "about that 'monster'...."

School is just starting up again so my updates are going to get a lot slower. Sorry about that... I hope people who read this actually like it. It's pretty bad compared to what I can do in first person POV but it just didn't fit the story. Be ready for better stuff once this is over! Or would you rather I alternate between weeks for another (longer) story? Scales only has another few chapters left anyway. Anyway! I hope you enjoyed and sorry about the slow updates just getting slower lol.
Bai!
