Caroline's Funeral

Chapter Fifteen

Einahnna climbs into Klaus' car with a scowl on her face.

" Cheer up love as soon as we find a stable home you'll have more room to roam. " He says putting a warm hand on her thigh.

She slides it off and looks out of the window at the trees passing them by. Completely missing the look of rejection on his face. They turn into a long driveway that leads up to a huge mansion.

" That's what you call a suitable home? " She asks in awe.

Klaus chuckles at her reaction. " Sweetheart I'm a thousand-year-old hybrid. In my lifetime I've come accustomed to the finer things in life. This is your life now. The world is at your feet because I'm placing it there. "

His words cause an unfamiliar feeling to flow through her. 

' The world? As in the whole world? ' She thinks just realizing that yes, he is a very old supernatural being. He can do whatever he wants. And what he wants is to give her everything. What did she do to deserve it is the question. 

He parks the car and vamp speeds to her door, opening it like a gentleman.

" Thank you. " She says as he helps her out.

Klaus keeps her hand in his and leads her up to the front door. " Let me give you the grand tour of your new home. "

Lue's POV

Lue tracks Stefan down at the grille after Einahnna left with Klaus. She doesn't trust Elijah's well being with him for a moment longer. Hopefully, he'll be in a negotiable mood.

Stefan looks up from his newspaper and rolled his eyes when he sees her coming his way. Lue sits across from him and crosses her arms.

" I think it's time for a chat. " She throws out there.

He sits his paper down with a smug grin plastered on his face. " I'm listening. "

" Look we both know why I got caught up in Klaus' madness. " She says clarifying that she was never on his side.

He shrugs indifferently. " Yeah, yeah, I know that you want to undagger Elijah. " 

" So you can see my dilemma. I fulfilled my end of the deal and now Elijah hangs in the balance. " She says looking around to make sure no one is listening to their conversation.

Stefan grins evilly. " That's really not my problem now, is it? "

" Look I know they screwed you over in the game, okay, but I made a promise that I intend to keep. " She says hoping he could just be the reasonable and rational Stefan he used to be. 

Who is she kidding?

He seems to think about what she said for a moment. " You see I would love to help you but that would mean giving up one of the very people that backstabbed us in the first place. "

' Damn it, Elijah! Why'd you have to go back on your word! '

" I really am trying to stay out of this mess but like I said, I made a promise. Even if it means going through you and your friends to get what I want. Don't forget who you're dealing with. " She says getting up and leaving him to think.

Einahnna's POV

 At school the next day Einahnna has a ton on her mind. There are a bunch of tests coming up and studying has been horrendous. Klaus bought the huge mansion but wants updates and additions. So that means she has to deal with the construction crew and the loud noises that came with them.
