We were flying and the soothing rhythm of the blades above my head and the complete energy that had been sucked from my body was a perfect match to take over my mind and body and send me deep into sleep.
I woke up quickly with the familiar sense of panic ringing in my ears. "Come on lets go!" My body was more alive than I thought it would be and I jumped out of the helicopter, I looked up in front of me and there stood a giant building with lights and massive walls and a large secure door that was open slightly letting people in and out, our group ran through the doors and people with suits and guns ran out.
"WE GOT CRANKS EVERYBODY!"
I was rushed inside very hurriedly and I stood with all my friends looking at the place we had come to. The crazy structure of the place and the many vehicles driving around, sparks of electricity flew around the place and all we could do was stare. It felt like no one even noticed us, we were nothing to these people in a moment of what seemed like pure panic. Then as if right on command a man appeared, dressed in the same sort of clothing as everyone else and he called through a mask of some sort.
"Follow me everybody! Ask questions later!" He started to jog away from us and we all exchanged looks, there was nowhere else to go.
We ran through pathways and corridors until we got to a door and we were all ushered through quickly, the smell that hit my nose as soon as I stepped in was like heaven. Lying in front of us all was a feast. Potatoes, chicken, beef, lamb, vegetables, deserts, water. Everything I needed. It was not until this moment that I realised how hungry I was, the animal inside was clawing away at my stomach. Feed me! It screamed and I obeyed.
I walked over to the table and dug my hand into a plate of pork and chucked it down my throat. I continued to eat and eat until I couldn't eat anymore, I watched as the others gorged themselves and it made me happy. Someone was finally looking after us.
Once we were all settled and people began to relax on chairs and tables a sense of calm came over the room.
"I don't know who these people are but they sure can cook." Newt said patting his stomach and smiling at us all.
"Hey" Frypan said as he glared playfully at us.
"Oh come on Fry, even you have to admit, that was better than anything you ever cooked up in the Glade" I said giggling to myself a little.
"yeah I guess you're right" He said sitting up slowly and smiling. Everyone was smiling and contempt and it was the nicest thing I'd seen in forever.
Suddenly the door swung open and there stood a man looking at us all, eyeing us and smiling a crooked smile. One that wasn't really there but you could just about make it out.
"Hello everybody, you all look nice and full. I'm sorry for all the chaos you had to be welcomed with on your arrival but we had a wave of cranks and that doesn't usually happen on arrivals. Now, if you'd like to follow me, I'll take you to your new homes for the time being."
We all stood up and weirdly no one seemed hesitant to follow. We walked out the room one by one, Newt letting me go in front of him. Ladies first, he'd said. As we walked along in comfortable silence we reached a locked door. The man who was leading us got out a card from his pocket and swiped it on the door, it unlocked with the signal of a green light and then he pushed it open but before he went anywhere he turned around to us and spoke.
"By the way, my name's Janson"
