Chapter 5: Cassie Kills My Eardrums
Autumn POV:
When I wake up, all I see are blurry figures standing above me. Muttering things.
My head sets me into a daze. I sit up, feeling dizzy and immediately falling down again. I saw all three of the humans and the other fox looking at me.
Startled, I defend myself, hunching up my body. Out of nowhere my senses change: I look down to see grey paws, different to my normally white ones, and I no longer have black and red fur!
I look around, spotting a mirror long down the hallway. Looking back at me I see a large grey wolf! It startles me, along with the other humans. The fox next to me's eyes glazed over, looking distant. I was confused, having no idea I could do this. Looking around, the humans seemed shocked, muttering in low voices I couldn't understand.
I don't want to abuse this cool power, but I wonder, could I do it again? What animal should I be next? I wonder. Maybe something like an eagle, so I can fly out of this mess. Long story short, it didn't turn out well. I definitely hadn't done something like this in a long time.
I look back to the mirror, seeing a human on all fours. I was confused, them realizing I was the human. I turned into a human?!?!
"AHHH!" I yell, making a short sound with my human vocal chords. The girl named Ivy looks shocked. She starts blubbering about something and tugging on the boy's sleeve.
" A-Andrew?" She mutters.
"Yes?" he answers, after being caught up in his head.
"L-look," She says, pointing to me.
"What? What could possibly-." He stops. The other fox jumps in front of me, hissing and scratching.

Thorn POV:
We kept watching over her, waiting. Slowly, we saw an eye open, and we all stood back and waited for her to become fully conscious. She jumped back, startled. Just as soon as she woke up, she shifted. Not a human shift. She turned into a large grey wolf. I stared wide-eyed at her, confused and filled with wonder. I asked Cassie:
What is happening? How could she do that? Any clue? Anything at all?
Nope. Never heard of i- WAIT!
My god Cassie I think you blew my eardrums! What is it!?
I know where I've of that before! I'm not sure, it's an ancient magic gift. If she can do another shift like a human, she must be a multi-shifter!
A multi-what now?!
Multi-shifter. See, they're very rare and hard to find, and they distinguish their scent quite well, I'm not surprised she didn't even know! It's common that they don't know until they feel extreme emotion, and sometimes they don't even know they shifted. But being a fox first? That's not normal. They're usually a werewolf, or a human, but a fox? Huh, I'll have to think about this.
Cassie went silent and I turned to the now-grey wolf and watched her, scared. She tried to turn into something larger, but it didn't turn out so well. I guess it was her first time in a while.
She changed in between many animals, then changed completely changed into a human. She must be a multi-shifter just like Cassie said! Although, I was confused. Yes, I'm a human, but if I could be anything, why that? She yells, startled as well. I guess she didn't know she could do this either. I look the girl up and down and then jump in front of the boy Andrew, covering his view. The newly transformed human-fox was naked. I hissed and scratched the air next to the boy and made sure he knew not to look.
As I motioned that I had to get the clothes, the other girl Lilac took my place making sure Andrew didn't look at the naked girl, scolding him. I quickly ran back into my cell, watching Andrew out of the corner of my eye. I looked at the back of the cell, pawing at a small space.
Lucky for me, I brought a couple extra pairs of clothes everywhere with me. Sometimes, in spots, even as a fox shifter your clothes do rip from time to time. I kept them in a bag that I have on me.
I have no clue how it stays during my shift, but it does and I not only not know why, but I also can't find anything about it, so I don't complain.
I nudge them over to the naked human, looking slightly down and going slowly, giving her privacy. I remember my first shift back, as I was too, naked. It was one embarrassing night, especially seeing as it was my birthday party, when I shifted, it was weird enough, being a fox shifter, but accidentally shifting back. Whew! The girl looked the clothes up and down and scooped up the clothes, still not used to her human body parts. I showed her how to put it on, and slowly, she got it. I think during the process they figured out I was a fox shifter, but I wasn't sure.
How am I going to get out of this place?
