"I made the call, and I don't have to answer to you," he arrogantly answered, adjusting himself on the chair then fixing his tie.
"And what of this deal am hearing about?" Alane said, maintaining her calm deminor, her legs crossed, back straight her hand resting on her thigh.
"Yes, I made a deal, he gives us all the information he knows, in exchange for witness protection, it's all for the good of the agency don't you think?" Now stretching out and placing both of his hands on the table fingures intertwined. Giving Alane all his attention challenging her to disagree.
Alane mirrored his action " so he will be free plus on the agencies dime for outdated information, remember he had been on the run since Amsterdam an year ago, plus the fact he killed my whole family,"
"I decide what is relevant or not, am sorry for your loss but your personal vendeta will not hinder the greater good. Anyway your six months of work that led to his arrested is noted and will be rewarded, now excuse me agent we both have work to do." He then proceeded to take a pen and go back to his papers dismissing Alane, he was done with this conversation.
Alane stood up and placed both hands on the table. This made him look up from his work, now openly annoyed by her presence.
"You never asked how the bullshit assignment you sent me to went," Alane said, her deminor now changed, she looked like a predator waiting to pounce on a very aware prey, assured that she would win.
This made him seat up, now attentive and ready for anything she might say or do, a shin of sweat present on his brow. The woman had a reputation for being a bit unhinged yet brilliant, he was smart enough to be on guard.
