Maryse stepped back as a portal appeared before her, wary of who was on the other side. No one was expected today.

Her fears were calmed, however, when Alec stepped through, closely followed by Magnus.

"Alec! What are you doing here? I wasn't expecting you back for ages yet and that was through the front door. What's going on, is something the matter?" Maryse fussed about her son. (That is what mothers are for.)

"Relax mom we're fine. But we may be returning sooner than expected-"

"Alec tell me what is going on this instant or I swear to-"

"If you'll stop interrupting I was just about to. Making a long story short do we have two spare rooms?"

"Yes there isn't any one in at the moment... why? What's wrong at the flat? And why would you need two rooms?"

"No they aren't for us-"

"Well who are they for then!" Maryse was getting confused now; something she detested very much.

"Again with the interrupting! As I was saying... whilst we were in Brighton Magnus bumped into an old- well I say old he's around my age- family customer along with his boyfriend..."

This earned a inner sigh from Maryse. She was still trying to fully accept her own son, let alone other people.

"... We went to a cafe to talk and have a catch up in Magnus' case when Draco's mother come bursting in. Long story short, Draco's father has escaped from Azkimaban or whatever it's called and is out to kill them. Basically, Narcissa, Draco, and Harry are asylum seekers now and the Institute seemed like the safest place."

"Oh my... well of course they can come why didn't you bring them through then explain? We are kinda here for things like this." Maryse exclaimed. Alec was starting to panic at this point.

"Eer yeah I know but the thing is they aren't shadowhunters..."

"Well what are they then? You know most downworlders can't enter the Institute."

Alec glanced over at Magnus to help. He wasn't entirely sure of the answer himself. The warlock took the momentary silence as a hint and continued

"They aren't downworlders either, Maryse, but neither are they mundane. They're wizards."

"But wizards and witches are just a myth." The woman replied.

"There you are wrong, you see. The wizarding world is very secretive. Even more so than us. However they can be found all over the world quite easily if you know what you're looking for. They are threatened by powerful Dark Wizards but have no other threats so didn't find it necessary to join with us. In fact, if I remember correctly the most recent Dark Lord was taken down by Harry, around two years ago now. Do you remember that bomb that went of in Britain in that May?"

"Vaguely..." Maryse and Alec both replied.

"The bomb never happened. It was a cover up for the war. I won't bother you too much with the details, I don't know much. However I'm sure they wont mind some questions. I wouldn't go overboard though; I can imagine it being a sensitive topic."

"I can imagine so too." Maryse muttered, thinking to herself.

"Wait a minute. Earlier you said that this person was around your age Alec. I'm assuming the boyfriend is the same age in this case which would have made him 17 two years ago... He defeated a 'Dark Lord' when he was 17! Wow! I can't see any problem at all with them staying, they'll fit right in. Be sure to make them welcome. I'll go fetch the others for a meeting. Bring them right in. Oh, but use the front door this time please."

With that Maryse left the room to go call a family meeting.

"Well then. I guess we should go get them then."

-x-

"Oh my, it's beautiful!" Narcissa exclaimed at the building before her.

"Perfect!" Agreed Draco.

"Before we go in, Mom has got everyone together to explain and introduce you guys. You don't mind, do you?"

"No not at all." Said Harry, ever the social one. Draco's slight pout was ignored.

The five people entered the library to see 5 other people waiting for them to arrive.

The newcomers took in their surroundings and it wasn't long before Harry heard Draco at his ear.

"Please tell me that girl is not another Weasley." He muttered, earning a chuckle from Harry.

On the other side of the room Jace was also casting first impressions to Clary, however he was a little to loud.

"Don't tell me I have to live with a fake blonde." He sighed.

Unfortunately for him, Draco had heard his accusation.

"I'll have you know that this hair is all natural." He sneered. No one made fun of his precious locks.

Great way to introduce yourself Draco! He thought with a sigh.

Beside him Magnus heard Alec mumble.

"Here I was thinking Jace would get competitive with Harry."
