Remus awoke, bloodshot eyes and dried tear tracks staining his face, in the arms of Sirius. His hands were still so stiff, and as he closed it in to a fist, he looked down at Sirius' bare leg. He quickly looked away, something on his stomach rising, but then wondered why: it was literally just above his knee that he saw, why was that such a big deal?
"You alright?" Remus jumped just enough for Sirius to feel the jolt.
"You shithead, that scared me!" Remus turned to face him, heart pounding.
"Sorry. You- you have a good sleep?" Sirius made sure to fall asleep after Remus, because hell knows what he could be thinking about if he didn't.
"Dreamless. Thanks." Remus stretched and cracked his back, which was louder than it probably should've been. It wasn't that he slept in an awkward angle, it's because he didn't roll over like he usually did because of his nightmares, because tonight, they didn't exist.
"That's fine. Come on, we better get ready and shit."

"Let's go climb a cliff!" Suggested Sirius, spotting a large one with a road running all the way round it. Note he said 'climb', not 'drive, since he was an adventurous soul and would find it way more fun if they just parked the car at the bottom and did the rest themselves.
"Excuse me? Repeat that again, will you?" Remus choked on his drink, which he quickly but down in the drink holder on his door of the car. He and Sirius didn't want to stay in the café that they bought their breakfast from because Sirius saw someone he recognised from a family reunion and he was sure that they remembered him too, which they most likely did because she scowled the first time Remus accidentally locked eyes with her. She also sneered when she walked past which is, quote unquote, "utterly pathetic, because she's probably marrying another one of my cousins tomorrow, while I'm here, having the time of my life with the best person on earth.". This made Remus blush, he was quite stupid for such a usually clever person and didn't realise that Sirius was constantly flirting with him, and he was flirting back. He just assumed he was dishing out very true compliments, because he knew that even if he did feel something, which he definitely didn't, there was no point even trying to gain some sort of attention. His scars just screamed that he's fucked up.
"We'll climb a cliff."
"Ha. No."

"Padfoot, I really fucking hate you. You make me do things that I wouldn't do if it wasn't for your stupid puppy eyes!" Remus and Sirius followed the road up until there was a whole wall of rocks that somebody convinced Remus it would be a good idea to climb.
"Come on, you're overreacting. It isn't too bad."
"You wrote your will when you stubbed your toe the on the door frame, you're the drama queen. Plus, no one else is climbing this; it's just us. Does that not alarm you in the slightest?" Remus searched for another foothold. This wasn't the first time he'd done something stupid, he was once a teen with dumb friends, but still, this was terrifyingly fun. He could feel the adrenaline running through every vein in his body.
"Not really, no. You've climbed that really big tree in Hogwarts and the roof of Gryffindor tower. At 4AM. This is just like that. And if we die, we'll have a really good death story!" Sirius looked down at Remus, who was a meter below him, and smirked.
"No we won't, and this is not just like that. We were children with no brains then!"
"We're 21, not 57." Sirius reasoned.
"Shut up."

"You can drink this water over here. You know how you buy water from Tesco and they're like, "The finest waters from a spring in blah blah blah blah blah.", this is what we're drinking. Isn't that nice?" Sirius cupped his hands a dipped it in to the water, watching as it filled up with the cool liquid. He brought it to his lips and drank it.
"Oh yeah, instead of drinking it from the tap or buying it in bottles, we'll just come here. It doesn't taste horrible though. Well, it wouldn't anyway, it's fresh water, but still, it's good." Remus said after having some himself.
"I think there's overnight parking here, so when we manage to climb down, we'll find our car and go all the way to the top where you can hardly breathe, and we can sleep there!" The only words Remus got from that was: overnight parking, hardly breathe and sleep here, so you can only imagine his confusion.
"Why do they even have overnight parking if you can hardly breathe? Are they trying to kill us?" Remus shook his head confusedly.
"Probably. Hey, I don't blame them for wanting to kill me; but wanting to kill you, that's not happening. Who want want to kill such a great addition to our fucking, shitty planet?"
"Well, who want to kill a hawt model who rescued a kitten the other day?" Sirius bit his lip and put and arm around Remus' shoulders.
"I could really get used to getting compliments from you, you know. It makes me able to tell Prongs that other, real people adore me too." Sirius smirked, squeezing Remus slightly.
"Glad I could be of assistance, Your Cockiness." Remus joked, resisting from putting his head on Sirius' shoulder.
"Do you think I have a right to be cocky?
"Can't say I don't." Remus shrugged, not bothering to look at Sirius. Also, he couldn't. He couldn't look in to his eyes after what he just said because he knew his eyes would tell the truth even if he didn't know it. He didn't know it was possible that he could flirt. He didn't know if he was harbouring feelings for the infamous Sirius Black, but his eyes, oh they knew.

The hours went on until the sun was just an orange orb floating near the bottom of the sky, but even then, that was the only thing that moved. The two men sat, legs dangling over the edge, admiring the last given rays of light, shoulders still touching.
