"Sirius, you're insane, you know that, don't you?! You just never think!" Remus yelled, rage filling his body. His imbecile of a husband was just being the daftest thing on the planet and he was losing it.
"Look, it's not my fault that- that they were threatening all of us! You and Teddy, do you think I would let you and him get hurt? Really now?" Sirius, for once, was trying to keep his head. Remus was angry as he had been gone for so long and was probably worried out of his wits. It's nothing too bad. Just an argument. Yes, just an argument.
"You - were - out - all - night! Where do you think that leads me to think? You didn't even tell me!" Remus wasn't going to let the tears of fury escape. This was stupid. His husband went to to the Black Manor, knowing he could fucking end up in hospital, and decided to talk to the very people who were against him. Ashamed of him being him. He went alone, completely alone! That was what was annoying Remus. He knew the Blacks and their ghastly ways.
"I didn't tell you because I knew you would make a whole unnecessary fuss about it! I'm completely fine, aren't I? I think your forgetting that I'm not helpless."
"You're not completely fine. Have you seen your back? The red weals from heaven knows what. You were hurt! Sure, you're twenty-five years old, but that doesn't mean you can't get hurt! You lie to me Sirius, I know you do." Remus refrained himself from scratching lines in to the wooden table. He watched as Sirius' face fell and only for a second did pity flicker across his mind.
"I- I don't lie to you Remus. I would never. I didn't want you to worry." Sirius stuttered quietly. He bit the inside of his cheek, almost hard enough to draw blood.
"And to do that you decided to go out, not come home for hours then just limp back in here looking like you just got out of.... I don't know, a bloomin' zoo?!" Remus didn't know what was happening. He didn't know what he was saying but he knew he wanted to stop. He just couldn't.
"You know what? Go." Remus pointed straight to the door, letting his anger get the better of him. Once again, Sirius' face fell, this time so drastically Remus almost drew his arm back and hugged him.
"What?" He whispered, terrified, "Remus, please. I'm sorry-" He tried into edge closer, look in to his eyes and say sorry so he knew that he truly meant it. Yet Remus backed away.
"Go." Remus croaked, and, with one last look over his shoulder, Sirius left.

Only then did Remus know what he did. He kicked his husband out. The same person who bought him three tubs of his favourite chocolate ice cream when he was feeling down. The same person who changed everything. He heard scared sniffling coming from a room. Teddy's room. His head whipped back. He completely forgot he was there.
'Teddy?" Remus rushed over to his room, ready to comfort his son. What he saw made him drop to his knees. His own son rocking back and forth, face buried in a pillow, whispering for it to stop. He did this. He made his son cry.
"Papa, did you hit dad like my old daddy used to do to my mummy?" The six year old asked, inhaling shakily.
"No. No, I didn't do that. That's your dad and I could never. Teddy, I'm sorry." Remus crawled his way over to the quivering boy and took him in to his arms, kissing his forehead.
"Is daddy coming back?" Teddy asked, his voice stabilising ever so slowly. Remus looked down at the boy curled up close to his chest and hoped that Sirius would come back.
"Yes. Yes, he is. Who could ever leave such a brilliant boy like you?" Remus smiled a watery smile at the end, hoping to be convincing. He was trying to reassure himself as well as his son.
"Daddy would never leave you too. I saw from my window, he looked scared. Daddy loves you and you love him, d-don't you?" Teddy's head snapped up fearfully. No, no, no! He didn't want to go back! What- what if they split up? Like his old mother and father did and end up hurting each other?
"I love him so much Teddy. Oh, Teddy, why did I say such things?" Remus bit his lip. Teddy had already seen so, so much more than the average six year old, and now he had just seen his dad being kicked out? He was despicable!
"Papa, are you going to phone daddy?" Teddy whispered, his big brown eyes staring up at Remus.
"No. Not yet. He needs some time to breathe. I do hope he took his jacket though, it's freezing." Remus looked out of the window, the painted grey sky dulling his day even further.
"Okay. Can you read me a story? The one about the poor boy who goes to a big chocolate factory? I love the funny voice you do for the genius chocolate man!" Teddy giggled, grabbing Remus' old copy of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
"It is your favourite, isn't it? I suppose you wish you could visit the chocolate waterfall room and slurp all the chocolate like Augustus Gloop!"
"No way! I would eat the grass!" Teddy sat down cross legged on the floor, eager to get started.
"Are you a little lamb?" Remus joked, ruffling his son's light brown curls.
"Baaa!"

Three hours later, Remus was making dinner: a Bengali curry he'd been experimenting with for the past month until he perfected it. He made lots just in case... Just in case Teddy wanted more. He was just bringing the pot of curry to the table when he heard a nervous knock on the door. He ran there faster than you can say Sirius.
"Remus, I'm so sorry, forgive me please, don't leave me, I love you so much, is that curry I smell?" Sirius said that all in one breath while holding a large gift bag and at least fifty roses wound tight with a piece of twine and brown paper. Remus grabbed Sirius' face tightly, both large hands clamped on either side of his face, and kissed him full on the mouth.
"I'm so fu-" Remus looked behind him and saw Teddy jumping excitedly, "ffffearful that you won't accept my apology because it's no where near as good as all this," he gestured towards the bag and roses, "so just take as much as you want and this time, you don't have to take the vegetables if you don't want to." Remus kissed the top of Sirius' head and welcomed him back in to the house, shutting the door after he'd entered.
"Now Teddy, my little man. I have a little something for you." Sirius said, putting the bag and flowers on the floor while pushing a hand in his pocket.
"Really?" Teddy toddled closer and threw his arms around his dad, whispering quietly so his papa couldn't hear him,
"Y'know, papa really missed you. He was really upset by what he said to you. Do you forgive him?" Remus pretended not to hear Teddy talk as he put the pot of rice down on the table.
"Yes but really, he should be forgiving me. Anyway, time for your surprise! So you have an Aunt Andromeda, or Aunty Anne if it's too much of a mouthful, and she makes little toys with her friend Molly Weasley. I asked her if she could make a stuffed animal for you and with a little sketch I made, she stitched this!" He knelt down and pulled out a hand made dark grey dog with the most amber eyes. You could tell it was hand made but the facial features were amazing.
"Wow! Tell Aunty Anne it's the best thing ever and I said thank you! Oh, it's so cute!" Remus knew what Sirius had done. It was a running joke that he was a werewolf because he would nearly always get ill during the full moon so that's where the coat colour came from. Sirius was Black Dog to all the Marauders when he wasn't Padfoot so that's why it was a dog. Remus' eyes were Sirius' favourite feature of his; he didn't like them much but he adored them.
"You can see it's got your papa's most gorgeous, amber eyes." Sirius stood up and kissed Remus' cheek, picking up the bag and flowers.
"I got your favourite chocolates and I'm telling you now, the line for them was longer than my d-"

Remus interrupted him with a forceful cough.
"Teddy dear, you can have your dinner in the dining room. We can still see you so don't try and chuck your salad across the room. Your dad and I need to have a chat in the kitchen." Teddy nodded and sat down at the table, his food already on his plate.

It was very lucky that Teddy couldn't see his parents because trust me, he wouldn't have wanted to see the scandalous look in Sirius' eyes as he followed Remus in to the kitchen.
