-6:00 am-
The ringing of her alarm as usual, didn't phase her. She stretched an arm outside her warm bed to meet the buzzing clock and slammed down on the button on top of it, causing it to stop making any sort of noise whatsoever.
And with this peace and quiet, she rolled over to the other side of her bed to continue her slumber.
-6:15 am-
"Marinette! Get up sweetheart!" A tired Sabine enters her bedroom, leaning on the doorframe. "Come on Mari, you start your new job today. You need to be wide awake and look your best!" Sabine continued.
Marinette jumps up "Oh shoot! I forgot!".
Sabine chuckles as she watches her daughter rush out of her room and into the bathroom where she starts throwing water into her face from the sink.
"I'll be making breakfast, honey." Her Mother shouts whilst strolling into the kitchen.
"Thank you, Mama" Marinette replies.

After brushing her teeth and hair, Marinette stands in front of the mirror questioning how she should style her midnight locks.
"You know, when you were a little girl, your mother used to tie your hair in little pigtails. It looked so cute."
Startled, Marinette turns around to find her father, Tom, stood in front of her.
"Thanks, Papa. I'll try it." She smiles.
And with that, Tom ruffles her hair with a chuckle and walks towards the kitchen.
Now with her hair in pigtails, Marinette turns to the mirror to see a girly reflection stare back at her. It wasn't her sort of thing, but she knew how much it meant for her Papa to see her look like a child again, especially since her new job shows how much she really is growing up.
Walking back into her bedroom, Marinette takes off her pyjamas and kneels beside her bed to reach for a box from under it. Gently tearing it open, her eyes widen with excitement as she sees her own navy blue uniform, complete with a peaked hat and black boots.

-6:30 am-
A feeling of pride and joy filled her heart as she strolled into the kitchen wearing her uniform, her black leather boots trudging with each step.
"Oh... honey. You look so professional!" Sabine cries, putting the plates of crepes down to get a good look at her daughter.
"Oh you look really smart Marinette! And you wore your pigtails!" Tom says, a wave of delight spread across his face.
"I did. And thank you guys, I'm so excited for today." Marinette replies happily.
"Good! I'm sure it's going to be great, I'm sure you're going to be great!" Tom chuckles "Make sure you smash it, Marinette style!"
"Boo Yah!" Marinette and her father say in sync.

After breakfast, Marinette hears a beep of a car outside and rushes to hug her parents. "That should be my colleague. I'll see you guys later!"
And with that she walked swiftly outside and into the police car that awaited her.
"Hello." Marinette greets the officer next to her. He's tan and has square glasses, he looks around the same age as her and is smiling warmly at her.
"Hey! Marinette, right? I'm Nino," He holds out his hand in a fist-bump style, "looks like we're going to be partners."
Marinette giggles and reaches her fist out to bump his in a friendly manner.
"So you're a dudette, right? You're probably going to get a lot of shit for that, not gonna lie, Mari."
He turns his head to the road and starts to drive away from her house.
"Oh, uh, yeah I'm kinda prepared, haha." Marinette laughs nervously. She wasn't prepared. In fact, that hadn't even crossed her mind. She was so obsessed with the thought of fighting crime, that she never even thought of the people that she'd be working with. At least Nino seemed nice enough.
He looked at her from the corner of his eye to see her staring down shyly, so he decided he'd break the silence: "Hey, uh, I really admire that you don't care about joining a normally male job, 'cause feminism, innit! Way to go dudette."
"Nino."
"Yes ma'am?"
"You're a dork." Marinette giggles.

The rest of the car ride seemed to fly by, Marinette and Nino got on really well, and Nino ended up developing a soft spot for her.
"I think I'm going to enjoy working with you Marinette." Nino grinned.
"You don't seem too bad yourself." Marinette laughed.
