They seemed to be stuck on a cloud, Liam and the golden boy. He had been dreaming of him for weeks now. All those weeks, they were placed on a cloud. "How was your day, Ares?" The golden boy spoke softly. He was sat on the cloud, perched like normal. This time, he was playing with the wisps of cloud. And they were bending to his will.

"I told you, my name isn't Ares. It's Liam," he said frustratedly. They had gone through his week after week. Golden boy kept calling him Ares, and Liam stubbornly refusing to believe that might actually be his name. After hearing golden boy use it so often, the name Liam felt like lead in his mouth. Like it wasn't true.

"And my name isn't Eros," golden boy laughed. He let go of the small pegasus he had been forming and blew it away, scattering its pieces. "But really, how was your day?"

"It was alright. UNI was long, lectures were boring, and I saw Louis and Harry with their tongues down each other's throats far too often for my liking." The last one made Eros giggle.

''So it was an okay day, I would assume?"

"You assumed correctly. How was your day?" Liam asked, Even though he already knew the answer. Golden boy never told about his days. He just made some excuse to not tell Liam about them.

"Oh, the same as always. Doing little tasks for mother, helping out people here and there," golden boy grinned and began playing with the cloud once again.

"Will I ever actually get to meet you?" Liam whined. He probably asked the question about once a week.

"Soon, my love," Eros whispered, standing and moving over to Liam to carress his cheek. "I'll be leaving the heavens within the week. Zeus knows you're beginning to hate this dreadful cloud. When I leave, we'll be able to meet in a different location. Something I think you might like a bit better."

"So in a week?" Liam whispered excitedly.

"About a week, yes. Now wake, Ares. Your current world needs you. I'll see you before you know it." Golden boy gave him a small kiss before disappearing into thin air.

"It is time for Ares to come home!" Zeus roared from his throne. Everyone knew the story of the fallen Ares. It was a curse from Hades. The boy was sent down to the mortal world to live a mortal life, unaware of his godly roots. Eros, or Cupid, depending whether you fancied Greek or Roman (Eros personally liked Greek better), found that absolutely heartbreaking. It had been ninteen years since he disappeared, and those ninteen years had taken a toll on Zeus.

"How do you plan on getting him, my lord?" Athena spoke from her throne. That was always her answer, every time Zeus demanded for Ares to come home. Or, at least that was what Eros' mother, Aphrodite, told him. For some reason, even though he wasn't allowed in these meetings, his mother brought him along. And now Eros was getting suspicious as to why.

"My son has volunteered to go," Aphrodite spoke suddenly. Eros looked up at her with wide eyes. He hadn't ever volunteered to retrieve Ares! "It is all set if you agree, Zeus. Eros will take on the mortal name of Niall, and he will search the earth for Ares. I've collected all the mortal money and clothes he will ever need!"

Zeus looked impressed. "I had no idea you were planning this, Aphrodite. Eros, are you willing to go?" Eros looked up at his mother from her towering throne and saw her nodding down at him.

"I would love to look for your son, sir," Eros said softly.

"Well it is set! Everyone else, you are dismissed. I would like to talk to Eros alone." Zeus waved a hand at everyone, and they were gone.

"Is there a problem, my lord?" Eros spoke softly. He was afraid to look Zeus in the eye.

"No problem at all, boy. I just wanted to give you some information about Ares. He is currently in London, studying at London Met. All you need to do is speak to the office and you will be enrolled. Do whatever you need to do to get Ares, or as they call him Liam, to get close to you. Try and bring him back as soon as you can, alright? I've missed him dearly. And check in every once and a while." Eros nodded. "Now go, boy. You leave in three weeks."

"Liam!" Zayn screeched, jumping up and down on Liam's bed. "Why are you still asleep? You never sleep this long! We have to go!"

"I'm up, I'm coming. Could I just go in sweats? I had a good dream and I really don't feel like getting ready," Liam whined, standing up, stretching, and giving Zayn a very nice view of his abs.

"No friend of mine will dress in sweats!" Zayn gasped, falling back onto Liam's bed. "Get dressed and smell nice! You could meet the love of your life today!"

"Doubt it," Liam murmured to himself. but nevertheless, he followed Zayn's orders.

-

"Why did you even drag me here, again?" Liam whined. Zayn had dragged him-almost by the hair-down to Zayn's favorite cafe. Liam thought it was okay, but he didn't love it as much as Zayn did. Something had always told Liam that he loved it because he had met Perrie here.

"We're getting lunch, you sod. Do you have a problem? I thought you were hungry!" Zayn complained. Liam felt the urge to reach up and plunk at Zayn's hair, just to annoy him.

"I have no problem with lunch, as long as you're paying!" Liam walked not so gracefully towards the counter, not even paying attention to where he was going.

"Liam-" he heard Zayn warn right before he ran into a warm mass. Both boys-or by the body structure, Liam assumed it was a boy-fell to the ground. Liam barely caught himself by his elbows before he crashed on top of the boy.

"I'm so sorry-" Liam started. He was only interupted by looking down at the beautiful boy below him.

It was golden boy.
