He just... left. Niall wasn't even sure what he had done to offend him. All he wanted was a promise that Liam would be for him and only him. Was that too much?

Of course it was, Niall told himself. He knew the major gods. He knew of the Titans. They swore that they had a siginificant other, and then had affairs with fifty other people. Niall didn't know how they did it. He didn't like the idea of anyone using anyone just for sex. He probably could stop it, but mortals were weak and stubborn and stopping it would be nearly useless. They would still find some way to cheat.

He didn't think it was that big of a promise. Was it? Was that not what Liam wanted?

Niall had given up wiping the tears off of his face. They were still streaming down when he called his mother.

"Mum?" Niall whimpered as soon as he saw her face. The mist was light and the connection wasn't very good. There was yelling in the background of her.

"Eros? Baby, what's wrong?!" She cried, looking at Niall's tear striped face. "Did someone hurt you? Are you alright?"

"I want to come home, Mum!" He sobbed, burying his face into the blanket he had wrapped around himself. "Can I come home?"

"Dear, you aren't supposed to come home until Ar-"

"Don't say his name!" Niall yelled. "I don't want to hear about it! He's become mortal!"

Aphrodite was taken aback by Niall's mood, but she nodded somberly. "I'll talk to Zeus. You may come home tonight, if you wish."

"I'm coming now." Niall used the blanket to wipe the drying tears off of his face. "I just need to pack a few things. I'll be there soon."

His mother bit her lip. "Alright," Aphrodite said carefully. "Good luck."

The connection went dead, and Niall began packing.

As soon as the mist was no longer there, Aphrodite pulled up the end of her floor-length dress and began sprinting towards where she knew Zeus would be. He was standing on the balcony of the palace, looking over the edge at the mortal world.

"My lord!" Aphrodite cried, dropping her dress and running over to him. "Eros is coming home!"

"With Ares? Already?" Zeus smiled gleefully. "He's amazing!"

"Not with Ares, sir. Eros just contacted me in tears. He wouldn't even allow me to say Ares' name. As much as he does need to stay down there and prepare Ares for homecoming, he's my son. And he was so sad. I can't just force him to stay there."

Zeus' face was grim. "He can come home, I guess. I'm not very happy about it, but as his mother you should be able to nurse his feelings well again. As long as he keeps an eye on Ares, somehow."

"I will be sure of that, Zeus. He should be here any time soon, actually." Aphrodite gave a small smile and ran to meet her son at the gates.

Liam had a bad feeling about everything. Zayn was awake and pacing, and he was pretty sure that Zayn remembered he wanted Liam to spill his guts.

"Why do you look so guilt stricken?!" Zayn finally yelled out. He then calmed his voice, remembering Perrie was still asleep in the next room. "You look like you've killed a granny or something."

"I made Niall cry. And then I left." Liam explained bluntly. Zayn's face held the most shocked face Liam had ever seen in his life.

"Why?" He gasped, siting on the couch next to Liam.

"Can I tell you something?" Liam whispered. "Or rather, a lot of things?"

"Always."

oki, so this is like a recap of the entire story so far, so if you don't understand/haven't been paying attention, this might simplify it

"Nearly a month ago I started getting these... dreams. They were a bit weird at first. It was me and another boy. He didn't call me by my name. He called me Ares."

"Wait, like the Greek god of war?" Zayn interrupted, then covered his mouth. "Sorry."

War? "Anyway, I called him golden boy. Eventually, I learned his name was Eros, like the Greek god of love. At first, he just asked basic stuff, like where I was living. I, thinking it was just some stupid dream, told him. I thought it was just something my mind had conjured up to make me feel less lonely.

"But the dreams kept coming, for two weeks straight. Golden boy continued to call me Ares, but he also began to tell me that he was coming to bring me home. As in, Olympus, home. I didn't know really what to think about it. After a week or so, I started to believe him.

"And then we ran into him at the cafe, except golden boy decided to go by Niall, not Eros. He said again, he was here to bring me home to Olympus. And I was actually ready to go. But then he told me about some horrible curse that was put on me as a child. Before I can make my way back to Olympus, I have to fall in love first. With a god, not a mortal.

"So now we're back to present day. I really like Niall, but I'm not sure if I love him yet. He was talking about how he didn't want me to leave, and I told him I wouldn't once we returned to Olympus. But then he got all pale and started stuttering about how lots of major gods like to sleep with mortal women for children. He wanted me to promise I wouldn't. I just kind of freaked out and left."

Zayn's face wasn't filled with shock as Liam thought it would be. He looked thoughtful. "I think you need to go talk to him. I mean, if he's the one you need to fall in love with, you can't do it without that promise. And honestly, it's not that big of a promise, Liam. If anyone can do it, you can."

"You aren't mad that I'm leaving?" Liam whispered.

"You can always visit, right?" Zayn joked and Liam nodded. "Now go get your boy.''

Liam made his way up to Niall's flat. He knocked on the door. It creaked open a bit.

Liam only pushed the door open enough to see that there was nothing in the room except the furniture the flat building provided. Niall hadn't had many things in there to begin with, but enough to tell that someone lived there.

He was gone. Liam dropped to the floor and cried.
