"But then you walked in

And I think my heart don't skip a beat

One look and everything just froze"

"Can you please tell me where we're going?" Sam begged.

I shook my head, laughing to myself. "Nope."

Sam pouted, turning up the radio just slightly. This date is going to be very unorganized, because there wasn't any planning in advance. I decided within seconds to go on this date, which maybe wasn't the best choice. Nonetheless, we'll have fun. Even if we went to the library, we would find a way to make it entertaining.

The familiar scent of the beach soon filled the air, the smell entering the open windows of the car. I breathed in the air, and smiled contently. Going to the beach always makes me happy. The relaxing atmosphere gives me space to think and really process things. Whenever my parents got really bad, I would go to the nearby beach and let my thoughts go- perhaps through a song.

"The beach." Sam said as I parked. "Of course, I should have known."

Rolling my eyes, I pulled my door open and hopped out. Because it's almost 7:00, barely anyone is out right now. The normally crowded beach is nearly vacant, with only a few people milling around. The steady waves crashed against the shore line, matching the beat of my heart.

Sam took my hand in his, intertwining our fingers together. We walked across the long boardwalk in silence, just swinging our linked hands back and forth. A smile broke out across my face, looking down at our hands.

"Are there any good movies out right now?" I asked, kicking the sand beneath my feet.

Sam shrugged. "There's that movie out, ya know... the one with Adam Levine."

"Wow, that really narrows it down." I said with a laugh. "Isn't it called Begin Again?"

He nodded, picking up the pace and running down to the water. I had no option but to run with him, since my hand is still attached to his. We slowed down once we reached the water, letting the water to roll over our bare feet.

My mind wandered off, thinking about my relationship with Sam. Eventually, we will need to tell the fans. My fans will most likely be okay with it, but I can't say the same for Sam's fan base. Naturally, he has a large female following. If they find out he has a girlfriend, all hell will break loose. And it will ultimately backfire on one of us- probably me.

I sighed. "Sam... when should we tell your fans about, ya know, us?"

"Whenever you want." he said gently. "I would gladly do it right now, but I'll wait for you if it's necessary."

"My main concern is your fans. They may not take the news lightly..."

He went to say something but paused, knowing that I'm right. Announcing our relationship may not be the best decision right now, and we know that. Our fate in the competition rests in the hands of America right now, and the news could potentially ruin the chance of us winning. However, I think Sam would be safe in that scenario. The teenage girls would turn on me rather than Sam any day.

"We don't even know tomorrow's results." Sam said. "If one of us gets cut, we can announce it. If not, we can wait until the right time."

"Look at you, being all logical and shit." I said, poking his freckled cheek.

More silence followed, until we decided to sit down and relax. Sam kept his arms wrapped around me, pressing my body closer to his. Heat radiated off his body, giving me a sense of comfort. I smiled in contentment, closing my eyes.
