Chapter 3

Lane

I finished my breakfast and put my bowl in the sink and washed the boys were being really quiet and it wasn't a nice, peaceful silence it was an awkward silence and it was killing me, I was so tempted just to punch one of them to get a reaction.

"Hey were you at the hospital last night?" Archer asks while staring at me suspiciously

"Yeah, why." I ask "Because we were there to." Micah replies

"You were the girl who almost started a fight with the nurse about social services." Archer adds

"I didn't think you two where paying any attention to what was going on." I turn to look at Archer weren't you wearing a sling." 

"Yeah I was but no pain no gain." he replied "Ok... your weird so how did use end up in hospital."

"Oh that's because Archer crashed our car yesterday." he says and turn to glare at Archer at the same time. "Wait did use crash outside of Lacey's diner?" I asked surprised 

"Yeah we did, but how did you know." Micah asks now looking at me and not Archer "I walked past where you crashed on my way to the forest where I fell out of the tree."  

"ha ha ha you fell out of a tree." Archer laughs, at that moment I really wanted to hit him but the front door opened and Callon walked in.

"Kal I say surprised to see who it was." I say as I look at the fair haired boy "Well well well if isn't Margret, darling how are you." he cockily 

I laughed as Callon looks towards me 

"You two have already met I see." he says "Well this Micah and Archer." he says pointing to the both of them.

" Can we finally find out what's going on." I groan "Not yet there's still one missing and I can't get to her, the accident she was in yesterday was a little more severe."

"Wait are talking about the pale girl, that was soaked head to toe in the hospital." I ask starting to connect things around

"Yeah her name is Harley and I need your help to get her, because to get near her, we have to go to the beach and there's far too many people there for me to interfere for Lane that's where you come in." he says looking at me "What!" I shriek  

"You need to befriend her and get her off the beach." he ask like it's the easiest thing in the world. "Ok but what beach."

"Baker why are you concerned about which beach." he asks suspiciously "no reason just wondering." they can never find out about Mitchell and Ocean beach is his land and if one of his men see me I'm screwed.

I'm standing on the beach looking for a girl who likes surfing with auburn but it's turning out to be more difficult than I thought. I keep walking along looking in front me and see a man that looked a lot like Darren but that's not possible, the others know nothing about me and Darren is one thing I'll never mention again.

I continue walking a notice a girl that fits the description of what I'm looking for but she's not surfing she's just kind of sitting on her surfboard staring at the water

"Hi." I say as I get closer

she looks up at me, smiles and says "Hi."

"I'm sorry I couldn't help but notice you just kind of sitting there and not surfing and I didn't want to pry I was just confused and curious about what was going on." I say

"Nah you don't have to worry, I'm just a little anxious to go back into the water I nearly drowned yesterday." she tells me with a thick British accent and I'm shocked 

"Oh I'm sorry about that, and I'm Lane by the way." I tell her as I held out my hand, she reaches for it and shakes it "I'm Harley."

"Are you from the UK?" I ask a little curious "Yeah I moved here two years ago." she reply's 

"That's cool." she smiles "You from around here." she asks me 

"Nah not really sure where I'm from, my parents died when I was young don't really remember anything about that." I sigh 

"I'm sorry about, hey do you want to get off this beach and do something." she ask and I smile and nod my head.

We both stand up and walk off the beach, we start walking and heading in the direction Callon and the guys where standing which was near a more secluded path, as we head towards the path the others follow to the car park where Harley notices Callon.

"Hey that guy is really intriguing me, I feel like I should follow him." he says " that's completely normal apparently because we all felt the same thing come on I'll introduce you." she follows but seems very sceptical of what's going on

"Harley this is Callon, the idiot behind him with the bruise on his forehead is Kal, and the other two behind him smiling like dimwits are Micah and Archer." I say like I've know them forever.

"Let's go and I'll explain everything when we get back." Callon says 

"Go where, what ... I've no clue what's going on." Harley reply's frantically 

"Callon's house don't worry it's safe." I reply
