short description

What if all the crushes you ever had found out how you felt about them... all at once?

Sixteen-year-old Lara Jean Song keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They aren't love letters that anyone else wrote for her; these are ones she's written. One for every boy she's ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly, Lara Jean's love life goes from imaginary to out of control.

my thoughts

If you've been reading books from Wattpad, you'll find this an easy read. Nakakakilig and relatable. It's a light story that is enjoyable. And it's not just a love story. Some people may think it's just a love story if you watched the film on netflix (and not read the book). It actually tackles family issues, growing up as the middle child, friendship, siblings' love  and many more.

Lara Jean, Margot, Kitty, Peter K and Josh are very well rounded characters. They'll grow on you without you even noticing it. Especially, they're close to my age. I can relate to their worries and problems. It makes me even more connected to them. It's relieving to know that I'm not the only one who wonders and question things about my peers.

What I love about this book is that everything is in right measurements. Right amount of romance, tea, struggles and emotions.

I was actually so hooked to this book that I finished reading it overnight (as well as the second book). Since, I don't read wattpad too often (just Jonaxx's) these days, I felt like I'm home reading To All the Boys I've Loved Before. I love the feeling of familiarity.

SPOILER QUOTES

- You'd rather make up a fantasy version of somebody in your head than be with a real person.

- Do you know what it's like to like someone so much you can't stand it and know that they'll never feel the same way?

- You only like guys you don't have a chance with, because you're scared.

- I didn't fall for you, you tripped me!

- Love is scary: it changes; it can go away. That's part of the risk.

- What must it be like, to have a boy like you so much he cries for you?

- There is a specific kind of fight you can only have with your sister. It's the kind where you say things you can't take back. You say them because you can't help but say them, because you're so angry it's coming up your throat and out your eyes; you're so angry you can't see straight. All you see is blood. (my favourite)
