Chapter Ten:

Jessica’s POV;

I choked on my words, if words were enough to explain how I felt – I would have but I couldn’t. I watched his eyes settled in anger, and at that point – the guy I was falling for wasn’t there. In fact, the guy I didn’t want to be around had taken over.

“You can’t do anything.” I begged. Tyler had given me a tough time, he had made me cry but I still loved him. He was still my brother.

“He hurt you.” Jason said coldly.

“We all hurt each other.” I replied flatly. Jason was not getting anywhere near Tyler.

Jason sighed, suddenly as if he realized something he blinked and his facial expression changed. “Forget about this.”

I frowned, hoping he had gotten my point. “Jason-” I started but he cut me off.

“Let’s see if you can beat me back to the house.” He challenged as he started to run.

My impulse hit and I ran behind him, I knew I couldn’t beat him but it was worth a try. And we reached back to the cabin, breathless – we had walked a far way and running back wasn’t easy.

Jason turned around smirking, a glint of shine in his eyes. “Now, now. Guess who won?”

“Were we competing?” I playfully asked walking closer to him – almost forgetting the conversation we had a while back.

“Of course,” he said as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

“Well, I guess you did then.” I said pouting sadly.

“What do I win though?” Jason asked smirking; this side of his was cute.

 “Me.” I winked.

He stared at me open-mouth, trying to figure out what to say. “What?”

I started laughing, “I’m just joking.” I pulled myself away from him and started to walk inside. “I’m sweating.”

“Let’s sweat together,” he held my hand and I felt myself blush.

“Stop being weird,” I giggled before wrapping my hand around him.

“Oh you love how I’m being.” He said as he pulled me inside the house. We found ourselves entering to a really good smelling house.

 “I’m starving.” I stated.

In a matter of seconds, Jason’s mom stood in front of us. “I cooked, why don’t you guys go shower than join us for lunch?”

“Yeah of course,” Jason said as his mom walked back into the kitchen, where a lot of conversation could be heard.

“See you in a bit I guess,” I said as we walked into the room.

“Or we could shower together,” Jason suggested teasingly.

“Yeah totes. And then we can totally sleep together tonight.” I said sarcastically taking out my clothes.

*

After lunch we spent out time just sitting with each other and doing different things. I read random stuff online and he completed some assignment on his laptop. It felt good to be in the same presence but not having to converse, it was like comfort.

It was hard not to notice that something was bothering Jason, but I didn’t push. I was enjoying the silence; I enjoyed the time to think while I read. I wanted the silence to put down what I thought, it was so sudden how attracted how I felt to Jason – how perfect he suddenly seemed to me.
