BUZZ.

I rubbed my eyes groggily and sat up straight.I had been leaning against the side and now my neck ached. It was cloudy outside and the moon was nowhere to be seen.It seemed as if dusk had just hit the city as people bustled toward their transport, leaving work.

"Almost there now Aazmi, just a few more blocks." Uncle Ben told me from the drivers seat and I nodded.J.F Kenedy airport was long behind us and we were just turning down a road into a neighbourhood.I looked at my phone and saw a notification on messages.

'Oh yeah this isn't Aunt May's number btw.It's Peter Parker,their nephew :)'

I shut my phone off abruptly and groaned softly. Now it's definetly going to be awkward. But I'm not going to make it awkward.I'll do my best to not ruin my already ruined first impression.

The car stopped and Uncle Ben then reversed it into a parking space.I undid my belt and waited as he opened the boot and then we dragged the two heavy suitcases out and then I carried my purse and backpack to the door.It was the weekend and since it was the middle of January, not the warmest time of the year.I rubbed my arms for warmth whilst Uncle Ben fiddled with the keys and unlocked the door.

I pulled the suitcases inside the house. It was just as any house was with a small kitchen and lounge and a stairs leading up.Clattering noises could be heard from the kitchen which were familiar and I followed Uncle Ben there. There was bowls piled up in the sink and flour covering the surface of the kitchen island top.A bag of sugar was leaning heavily to one side,a steady stream pouring out.I moved it upright and smiles as I saw Aunt May turn around from the cupboard.

"Hello Aazmi,How was your flight?Hope it was okay. You didn't remember to message me and I thought you might need something. It's fine I'm just happy you're here.Safe and sound."

She hugged me and I smiled.Aunt May was exactly was she was before.I understood how my mum could be so fond of her.I can't believe I didn't recognize her name when I read that email before.

"Yes it was nice and t-"

I stopped as she quickly wiped her hands and hurriedly pulled out a seat from the kitchen table. It was as if she just realized the mess in the kitchen and she dashed to put the things away, meanwhile turning the dial up on the oven.

Uncle Ben looked amused and he began to place plates on the table.I moved to help since if I was going to live here,I had to do my part.

"No Aazmi sit, you've had a long journey.Would you like some tea?Coffee?Water?"

"Water is fine,thank you."

I took a sip from the glass as Ben sat down to read the newspaper.

"Your bags dear?"

"They're by the staircase,Aunt May.I'll move them or I can do that now."

She shook her head and turned to the saucepan on the stove.

"No,no Pete will do it.PETER!"

I had to stop myself from covering my ears. She was quite loud.I think I heard a muffled reply from upstairs and then the footsteps drumming on the stairs.I didn't bother looking up and just stared into my glass of water.

"Peter I told you and Lilly that Aazmi was coming.Where is that girl? Wait did you not even take a shower, you look like you just woke up."

"I showered, changed and checked over the guest room.Lilly's out at Liz's house and her mum's dropping her off in a bit,"Peter replied, slightly annoyed.

"Well you look the same as you did before.."

I couldn't help the laugh that came which I quickly turned into a cough.Aunt May glanced at me before turning back to Peter, who merely smiled back, about the bags.He nodded.
