My Aurora

Ch.3

Octavia POV

I wake up in the medical bay. Lincoln was by my side asleep in a chair. I look around frantically when noticing the door was open. We still have a rule that when I'm in a room the door must be closed and locked al all times. I try to get up but someone pushed down on my chest. I looked up and saw Lincoln.
"What the fuck happened?" I asked.
I look down and saw blood between my thighs.
"You lost the baby."

I shot up screaming when I realized I was right where I was standing when I blacked out except I was laying on the bed.
"OCTAVIA!"
I hear Lincoln yell down the hall. He puts the key in the door and bursts it open.
"What's wrong? Are you ok?" He asked while frantically looking at my body for any sign of harm.
"I'm sorry I just had a really bad dream." I said quietly.
"You don't have to be sorry."
He hugged me as we both fell asleep.

I wake up in the middle of the night when I feel wetness between my thighs just to realize my water broke.
"LINCOLN!" I yell.
We wakes up and immediately knows what's going on. He picked me up as he runs down he halls down to the medical bay and lays she down on the table.
"What's going on?" Abby asked.
"Her water broke." He said.
She looked at him as if he was joking.
"Abby." I say.
"Have u been training Octavia?" She asked me.
"Well ya of course." I say in response. She looks at me with eyes full of pity.
"That's why you're going into labor Octavia." She said with her eyes closed. She hooks me up to a few machines and puts an IV in my arm.
"Will she be ok?" I asked her.
"Octavia,if I'm being honest with you. I don't think so." She says.
"Sorry".

I've been in labor for about 4 hours. It's just a lot of pushing and screaming.
"Lincoln?" I ask.
"Ya?"
"I have something to tell you" I tell him in a low voice.
"What is it love?" I say and he grabs my hand.
"I tried to kill her so many times before I told you I was pregnant." I tell him with tears in my eyes.
"Octavia it's ok." He reassures me.
"What if that's the reason she's coming so early?" I ask. He must of realized that I was stressed as he took a needle and stuck it in my arm and everything went black.

I woke up to a soft shrill. I look down and realized I just delivered my baby girl.
She was alive.
Thank god. She was very small. I could see her ribs every time she took in a breath after each cry. She had hazel eyes, long eyelashes, a small nose, thick lips and tan skin. I noticed she had a birthmark on her right shoulder like me.
"Hello my little Aurora." I say as I kiss that top of her head.

I was in med bay for at least a week as Abby did work on me and Aurora. People are anxious to see our baby but we don't know if it's time yet. I walk out of the medical bay with Aurora in my arms and Lincoln's hand gently on my lower back. We walk to our room as I put Aurora in her crib. She coos at me. I smile. That's the first time I smiled in a long time. I went to a meeting as Gia looked after Aurora. I know Abby said I shouldn't leave Aurora alone this early but it's only for a little bit. "We have some news." Marcus tells me as he pulls me to the side with Indra.
"What happened now?" I ask.
"We may have to be in here a lot longer than five years." He tells me.
"What are you talking about?" I ask in a frantic tone.
"Primfiya will be lasting a lot longer than we thought." The says.
"How long?" I ask
"Seventeen years."

I go back to my room to see Gia just leaving. I walk inside and see Aurora in her crib. I pick her up.
"I'm so sorry my love." I tell her.
"You're mother had failed you. These walls are all you'll know until you're grown." I tell her as she looks at me with her big bright eyes.
"You'll meet you're first love here, have you're first kiss, meet you're first friends here. I hope one day you can forgive me." I say as I hold her close.
