My Aurora

Ch.6

Octavia POV
I wake up to the sound of Aurora crying. As I get up, the cool air hits my legs and bare torso. I walk across the room and pick her up. I sit on my bed as I feed her a bottle. I feel movement behind me as Lincoln snakes his arms around my waist.
"What time is it?" He asked in a tired voice. I look at the digital alarm clock on the table. It takes a while for my eyes to calibrate.
"Three in the morning." I say as I turn to face him.
"I think we can let her go out of the room more now that she's walking." He says out of the blue. I blankly stare off into the distance until I hear banging at the door. I jump backwards and startle my baby girl. I remember that Indra brings us food early because we get different food then everyone else. We eat real food, different food. She brings us breakfast early so that no one will see. I open the door as she pushes in a cart with an assortment of fruit and meat. I walk the cart over to Lincoln. I sit down on the bed and suck on a strawberry. Aurora took it from my mouth and tried to eat it. Lincoln ate bacon and a banana. I only had a mango and water. We usually eat the rest later. The clock read 3:48 now. I was still so tired but Aurora was wide awake. I move the cart and walk over to the cabinet. I lift up a syringe from the shelf and bring Aurora over to her crib. We were given these tranquilizers when Aurora was first born because she wouldn't sleep. I hummed quietly to calm her down as I stuck the needle into her neck. I watched her long eyelashes flutter shut as the fell into a deep sleep. I place the syringe on the table and walk over to Lincoln.
"Wanna have another baby?" I ask with my back turned to him. I knew he was shocked by the stammer in his voice.
"You just had one." He said questioning tone.
"I'm not talking about right now. I mean later. We have all the time in the world so why not just have sex and have kids?" I say as I take off my bra.
"I love you". He says as he grabs me and sits me on top of him.

I wake up the next morning to my baby girl cooing. I turn to see Lincoln walk out the door with her. I get up and walk to the bathroom and close the door behind me. My reflection stares back at me as I wash my face. I notice something wrong with my leg. It's almost as if I can't feel anything. I look down and see blood. Thick red blood pooling from my inner thigh, close to my vagina. I don't think of it as anything at first. I just though I started my period until I remember I'm on the pill. I scream. I screamed until Abby ran in. She saw what was going on and ripped the shower curtain and wrapped in around my knee.
"Thank you." I tell her.
"We should get you to medical." She says. I shake my head.
"I probably just bumped it on the table while getting up." I say as I get up and wash my hands.
"Well then I need to address you with a bigger problem." Abby tells me as I walk out the bathroom. I look at her with wonder in my eyes.
"The door to the outside is open."
