What do I do with it?
I held the slip of paper in my hand, pacing back and forth.
"Call him!" Harry called from the stove.
"And say what?"
"That you love him, duh."
I grimaced, punching Harry in the arm, "I don't love him, you idiot."
Harry shook his head and popped the top on his Pepsi bottle, that he grabbed from the right of the stove.
Ashton was on the phone in the other room, which he has been for the last thirty minutes.
"Ash, you need to get off the phone! Ni's gonna call Liam! Call Luke back later!"
After a few minutes, Ashton came back into the kitchen.
"That wasn't Luke! That was my mum, Harry! My mum! Luke's annoying anyway, can't stand the guy."
"You guys bonded pretty well the other day with the whole pizza thing?" I asked.
"The only people bonding between the two bands are you and Liam. Both Calum and Michael - the latter whose not even in a band- have been sleeping around and flirting with random girls! And since Luke and Calum are pretty close, Luke's been doing similar things! Taking girls to hang out back at his flat! They're sick people, really."
Ashy's face was blood red, and the only thing I could do to calm him down at the moment, was to agree.
"I understand, Ash. After this competition, we probably won't be seeing much of them, anyway."
It was a rare occurrence for Ashton to get mad, he didn't get angry often. I thought that maybe he's jealous, he hasn't had a steady girl in a while. But I chose to leave that out.
"You can call your boyfriend now!" he spat.
But from the sorrowful look in his eyes, I knew he was meaning no harm.
I grabbed the telephone, quickly spinning the rotary around, hitting each of the numbers.
A few minutes passed, when a click came from the other end, signaling Liam had picked up.
"Payne residence, Liam speaking."
I snorted, "You sound so formal,"
Liam sighed, "I try. Niall, yeah?"
"Yeah, that's me."
A couple awkward minutes pursued, until Liam cleared his throat and began to speak.
"Something you needed?"
My face turned beet red in embarrassment, "I was, um, just checking to see if you gave me the right number, you know,"
"Why would I give you the wrong number?"
A smirk found its way to my face, "Why wouldn't you?"
"Good point."
"So, you listen to any disco lately?" I teased.
"God, Niall. I thought you were over that. And to answer your question, yes, I have."
"You're so gay its not even funny, Li."
"Li? That's new. Maybe I am gay, you'd like that, wouldn't you?"
I shifted uncomfortably from foot-to-foot. "Maybe I would."
There was another pause.
Did I say something wrong?
Nah, I'm probably good.
"So, how's the boys doin'?"
I glanced over to Harry and Ash, both their eyes glued to the television screen.
"Pretty good, I believe. What about Zayn, Luke, and Calum?"
"Zayn's doin' good, he and Perrie are closer than ever. Luke and Calum are never around, so who knows."
"Who cares..." I muttered silently.
"Nobody, really. Especially Calum. He hardly shows up to practice anymore. Usually, it's me and Zayn, and most of the time Luke, but never Calum."
I cursed under my breath for letting Liam hear that. Thankfully, he didn't hate me for my comment.
Liam spoke again, "So are Harry and Louis..."
"A thing, yes. I believe so."
"Is that even legal?"
"Of course it is. Harry's eighteen."
Groaning, Liam said, "No, that came out wrong. I meant, is it gonna affect the outcome of the competition?"
"Not that I know of. Harry's not using him, so it shouldn't. Harry's not that kind of guy."
"Cool. They're cute together."
Yeah, not as cute as us though.
"Us as in you and me?"
I dropped the phone and cursed loudly. Why am I so stupid?
"You heard that? Damn, do you have super hearing, or something?"
"No, you just aren't good at separating your thoughts from what you actually say,"
"I'm so sorry, Liam. That wasn't supposed to happen."
"Hey, you're good. I agree, I think we would be."
My heard fell into my stomach, and my knees began to buckle. "Y-Yeah,"
I'm not sure why I'm reacting like this. I'm stronger than this.
"You wanna hang out? My mum and dad are gone at work, so it'd just be you and me."
"I'll go check with the boys."
I sat the phone down, quickly jogging into the other room.
"Ash? Haz? I'm gonna go over to Liam's place for a bit, okay?"
"Be safe, use protection." Harry said, eyes still set on the telly.
"Yeah, yeah. Seeya."
I told Liam that I could come and would be over in twenty minutes.
After the call, I sprayed some cologne on and used my brush to feather my hair back to its regular position, which is out of my eyes.
Grabbing the keys to the Focus, I got in and drove off to the location scribbled on paper, sprawled out on my dashboard.
