After the song ended, my face flushed.
Why did I wink at the lad?
Zayn clapped a hand on my shoulder, whispering "Great job, mate. You killed it."
I nodded and made my way over to the bar, where all of my band and the other band.
"Good job, Liam."
Raising my head up, I was met by Neill or somethin's blue eyes.
"Thanks."
"No really, you did phenomenal."
I blushed at the comment, "Thanks, you too."
Looking around, our bands were mixing and mingling, which was a good sign, I guess.
Except for Zayn, who was snogging Perrie by the loo.
"I knew you two would hit it off nicely..."
Michael had came behind Niall and I, his hands on our backs.
I raised my eyebrow at the lad. He shook his head and walked away.
"Okay..."
"So is your band popular around here?" he asked, breaking the ice.
I let out a sigh, which I guess I've been holding in for a while.
"Yeah, I mean sort of. We're nothing big, but around here, as in this bar, we are. And you?"
"Not really. We formed in Dublin."
"Really?" I asked, gesturing to his bandmates, "They're Irish? They don't sound like it..."
"They were on holiday in Ireland, and we met and then started a band in Dublin. But then they went back home."
I smiled slightly and we idly chatted for what felt like hours.
"You want a pint?"
"No, I don't drink. You want one? I'll buy you one." I said.
"O-Oh," he blushed, "no thanks. I don't drink either."
"Good boy, Ni." A lad with light brown, shaggy hair, whom I believed was a bandmate of his.
"Thanks, Ashy?" he said, slightly shoving the boy away.
"I'll leave you to flirt with Liam."
Niall blushed furiously, looking at his feet, "I'm not, though..."
"Sure you aren't. You drink like an Irishman. Obviously you're trying to impress him, you'd be totally hammered by now."
"Okay, Ash. I think that's enough embarrassing me for one day." he muttered.
I gave him a small smile, "It's okay, Niall."
"Y-You wanna hang out at my place for a bit? I've got some records there. You don't have to if you don't want to, it's okay."
I laughed, trying to ease the awkwardness, "Sure. Lemme go tell my boys."
I turned around, but noticed all of them were preoccupied. Luke was with that Ash guy, talking about the band on his shirt.
Zayn still with Perrie, and Calum no where in sight.
I shrugged and followed Niall out to his car.
"Wait. Do you want to follow me back to my flat?" he asked, hand on the door of his Escort.
"Nah. Zayn drove us over here. I don't have a car, as well."
Niall nodded and got inside of his car.
"Niall, you bringing this lad home?"
Niall's face reddened, "No, Haz. We were just gonna hang out. I should be asking you the same thing..." he said, pointing to Louis.
"N-No!" he stammered, "But still, isn't that a bit rushed? Maybe just go for a drive or something. It's not a good idea to bring someone home on the first date..."
Niall's cheeks got even redder, if possible, along with my own. "It's not a date...!" I uneasily exclaimed.
"Fine. We're going for a drive." he stated, reaching his hand out of the window, grabbing my wrist.
He drew me close, "Just get in on the other side."
I nodded and got in the passenger side.
Niall backed out of the space and onto the road.
"Where to?" he asked.
"Anywhere. I'm kind of glad we're leaving. Everyone was absolutely smashed." I said, a disgusted look on my face.
"Y-Yeah..."
We sat in silence at the light, waiting for it to change.
"Don't we have to wait until they announce the winner?"
Laughing, I corrected, "No, there are other bands yet to play, two more next Friday, and later that night they announce it. They have two bands a night."
"Oh," he dragged out, "that makes sense."
"So what's your band like?" I asked, tapping my fingers to the beat of the song.
"We're pretty laid-back. Sometimes we can be a little mental. You?"
"Zayn's somewhat quiet. He has a mysterious vibe about him, but he can be a little mad sometimes. I guess that can go for all of us. I try to maintain some sanity within our band. Luke and Calum mess around, but they're the two youngest, with Zayn being the oldest, so it's not a big deal."
"Are you like the dad of the group?"
I chuckled at his choice of words, "I guess so, are you the shy one?"
He blushed, and I guessed my assumption was off, "No, I actually talk a lot. I'm just a bit nervous, probably."
"Nervous about what?"
Niall's eyes were glued to the road ahead of him as his grip on the steering wheel tightened.
"I don't know, everything?"
"There's nothing to be nervous about. Your band was brilliant, or at least I thought so."
"Thanks. You guys were really good."
I flashed him a small grin, attempting to ease his anxiety.
"So you like Aerosmith, yeah?"
"Yes! I love Aerosmith. And rock, it's my favourite kind of music." he exclaimed, a large smile gracing upon his face.
"Rock's good, but I tend to lean more towards disco, too."
"No! Why?! Why disco?"
"What do you mean, 'why disco?'? There's the Bee Gees, they're sick! Motown is great as well! I have nothing against rock, it's good, but I like disco just as much! Have you seen Saturday Night Fever?" I said, almost out of breath.
"Yeah."
"And?" I breathed.
"It was awful. I don't see how anyone could like that kind of music! Wouldn't you rather pump your fist and bang your head at a rock concert than do whatever you do at a disco?"
"I don't do either. Is there something wrong with disco?" I asked, eyebrow raised.
"Yeah, disco sucks."
