Tony wouldn't stop crying, and Steve didn't know what to do. He walked over to Tony, who had his face buried in his hands. He placed his hand on his back, attempting to comfort him. "It's okay, Romeo." Steve said, giving him a nickname that seemed to just roll off the tongue. Tony looked up from his hands. "What...what did you just call me?"
"Oh, I don't know? It just slipped out, sorry." Tony began to smile, his tears finally drying up.
"Steve, no, this is great! When we first met, that was the nickname you gave me. And you've been calling me that ever since. I think you're starting to remember!" Tony's stomach was tingling with butterflies.
"T-tell me about the first time we met," Steve asked.
"Well, we were in high school and I was striking out on some girl. Yes, this was before I knew I was into guys. Anyways, she walked away and you came up and said, "Nice work, Romeo." You were the most beautiful boy I had ever seen. And from that moment I knew you were the one." Steve began to blush.
"So, um, tell me about the other me. From your dreams?"
"I thought I'm supposed to forget about that."
"Well, I'm sorta curious."
"Okay, well your name was Ironman and you were sorta the heart of our team. We didn't get along at first, but we soon became great friends. I always felt deep down there was this special connection between us. But you had a girlfriend named Pepper, so I didn't think we could ever be anything more than friends. But then we got into a really big fight and didn't talk for two years. It tore me apart inside, I missed you so much. I was really lonely, honestly. You were the only one I could really talk to. When I saw you when I woke up, I was so happy. And now I know you're my husband, so I'm even happier."
