{Jericho} - Chapter 6

Back at the manor, Jackie and Markus sat together by the piano, playing a soft tune. "Have long have you been able to play piano?" Markus asked. 

"Ever since I was six. I've always liked playing the piano," Jackie answered with a smile. "We've already played my songs. I wanna hear you play something, Markus."

Markus obliged with the young girl's request, then began to play. 

"That was beautiful." Jackie commented. "Would you like to learn how to play it?" Markus proposed. "Uh-huh." She nodded her head with a smile. 

Markus taught Jackie the song, showing her step by step. "Jackie..."

"Hmm?" She hummed in response. "Who taught you to play the piano?" Markus asked. "My Grandpa." Jackie answered. "Oh... What else did he teach you?" He asked. 

"What do you mean?"

"Back at the park last night... When you took down that drone... How were you able to do that?"

"Why do you ask?"

"I just want to get to know you better."

"Oh... okay."

"What did your grandfather do before he died?"

"Well... Grandpa was an assassin."

"He killed people?"

"Just the bad people. Templars, he called them. I'm still not really sure what that means. But Grandpa said that they were bad people."

"What did he teach you?"

"Just the small stuff. He said when I'm older that I'll be able to learn more. But now that's he gone... I'm stuck with just the small stuff he taught me."

"Small stuff?"

"Grandpa taught me how to climb, how to be quiet, and how to blend in with crowds. I'm too young to fight, and he said it was dangerous for a child my age..." Jackie looked at the black and white keys of the piano as she began to remember the good times she spent with Achilles.

"He said, until I'm old enough, he'll teach me how to fight. But he's gone, so..."

Tears began to swell up in Jackie's eyes as bringing up Achilles brought back happy memories. "I think I need to be alone for a while." Jackie said before leaving the piano. 

The manor was fully repaired and the androids were happy about it. Some androids talked with others while some were watching the news about last night as Jackie walked by.

"Grandpa... Why did you have to go?" The little girl whispered, sadly. "What's wrong, Jackie?"

She lifted her head and gasped in shock when she saw Simon standing before her. "Simon...?" She whispered in disbelief. 

"Hi, Jackie." He smiled. She ran over to him and hugged his waist, her head resting on his chest as Simon hugged her back.

"This is suicide. We'll all be killed! Please, Markus... It's not too late to change your mind." North pleaded. 

She, Simon, Josh, Jackie, and Markus stood in a store as they were about to commence with their plan, which was to show humans that androids are alive and they deserve to be free.
