Kai's POV

Well this certainly isn't the way I expected today to go. I mean, first my sister shows up in Japan and we catch up on old times after not seeing each other for so long, then Tsuyu shows up, we talk, Barbara leaves, and all of sudden I'm on a date. So yeah, not very expected to be honest.

Anyways, I decided that since Tsuyu and I made this a date, we should figure out what to do other than getting groceries.

Kai: "What should we do? This is a date now, so we gotta find something else to do other than grocery shopping. Oh man, I'm so not prepared for this!"

As I'm thinking to myself, I notice Tsuyu talking on the phone with someone. I decide to calm down and listen.

Tsuyu: "Yes Mom... Yeah okay, thanks... love you too, bye."

She hangs up the phone after that. From the minimum of what she said, I knew she was talking to her mother.

Kai: "Talking to your Mom?"

Tsuyu: "Ribbit, I'm just letting her know that I'm going to be back home later than usual because I'm... going on a date with someone."

We both blushed from that statement. We have no idea what we're doing. But then I spoke to break the awkward silence between us.

Kai: "*clearing throat* Anyway, what do you wanna do?"

Tsuyu: "I don't really know. I didn't really prepare for this."

Kai: "Neither did I."

Tsuyu: "Do you... want to get something to eat?"

Kai: "Sure."

So Tsuyu and I spent about 5 minutes looking for someplace to eat until we settled at a place that specializes in Ramen. We each ordered our own bowl. Tsuyu's bowl was small, while I had the biggest bowl. Some nice Ramen with cooked pork and an egg. But even though the food was nice, the atmosphere between me and Tsuyu was weird. The awkward silence didn't help. I could tell that she also didn't know what to say. But even still, I needed to break the silence, so I just began talking.

Kai: "So uh... what's it like at home? Kai, you idiot!"

Tsuyu: "What do you mean?"

Kai: "I mean, what's it like in your house? What's your family like? Do you have any siblings? Are you the oldest of all of them? WAY too many questions at once, Moron!"

Tsuyu: "Oh uh, well home is pretty good, Ribbit Ribbit. My Mom and Dad are pretty cool, even though they're usually working most of the time. I also have 2 siblings, 1 brother, and 1 sister, and I'm the oldest out of all of them."

Kai: "I see. So does that mean that you're usually the one who takes care of your siblings and the house?"

Tsuyu: "For the most part, yes. But when my parents are around, they're very caring towards us."

Kai: "That's Good. Nothing better than the unconditional love of family."

Tsuyu: "Yeah... Kai, if I may ask, what were your parents like?"

Kai: "Huh?"

Tsuyu: "Ribbit, I know that it may seem rude to ask you about this, especially considering what's happened in your life, but... what were they like?"

It took me some time to process the question in my head, mainly because it was about my parents. After processing the question, I start to think back to the memories I had with my parents. They were painful to think about, but they were good memories. I started talking.
