CHAPTER FOURTEEN:
THE LONGBOTTOMS

Aurora experienced an ongoing set of highs and lows over the least few weeks.

Her lows came from the fact Umbridge's authority only seemed to be growing at Hogwarts, and now even the first years were getting detention. Some people were even contemplating leaving if Dumbledore didn't do anything about it, the man had not been seen or available since September. She hoped he was planning on a way to get rid of the woman.

Along with this, Ron was actually a horrible Quidditch player.

He had cost them not one, but two matches over the course of a month. He only saved one goal, so far, Angelina was really regretting letting him on the team. Harry had also gotten almost two weeks of detentions from Umbridge, two weeks, he refused to keep quiet in her lessons.

This made McGonagall very annoyed with him.

Another low was the fact Sirius never replied to her or Harry's letter.

Her happiness however, was because of Beckham Hampton. Over the last couple of weeks, she grew rather close with him, considering she wasn't the easiest to give out her trust, this had been new to her. Some people couldn't ride a bike , Aurora couldn't trust people; well actually she couldn't do either.

She sits in Defence beside Harry. She glances down at his hand, feeling a small urge to take it into her own one. She frowned, it looked very painful.

"What is it this time, Miss Granger?"

"I've already read chapter two."

"Well then, proceed to chapter three."

"I've read that too. I've read the whole book." she explained.

"Well, then, you should be able to tell me what Slinkhard says about counterjinxes in chapter fifteen-"

"-He says that counterjinxes are improperly named. He says 'counterjinx' is just a name people give their jinxes when they want to make them sound more acceptable. But I disagree."

"You disagree?"

"Yes, I do. Mr. Slinkhard doesn't like jinxes, does he? But I think they can be very useful when they're used defensively."

"Well, I'm afraid it is Mr. Slinkhard'sopinion, and not yours, that matters within this classroom, MissGranger." the woman replied, Hermione went to speak again. "That is enough, Miss Granger, I am going to take five points from Gryffindor House."
