CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO:

RON'S BIRTHDAY

★ ★ ★

Passing aside all the events that happened during Christmas, when all returned back to Hogwarts it was rather boring. The only thing that occupied their minds at the minute was the task Dumbledore assigned Harry to do: ask Slughorn about Horcruxes.

"He loves you," Ron told Harry said over breakfast, waving a forkful full of eggs. "Won't refuse you anything, will he? Not his little Potions Prince. Just hang back after class this afternoon and ask him."

"Potions Prince." Aurora mentioned with the smallest of laughs, "That's a new one. I'm going to use that one."

Harry looked at her, thinking of something else. "I thought you preferred Mr Boy who lived."

"Naturally of course, Chosen One."

"I'm glad you two are back to being friends again," Ron mentioned giving them both a wary smile. "I'm glad we're all friends again. Normality is restored."

"As am I, Ron." Aurora grins widely "I'm glad we're friends again, Harry."

"Me too." He agreed, taking a sip of his pumpkin juice gladly.

Ron begins to talk about his training. She felt something against her leg and someone gave her the gentlest of nudges with his leg. She ignored it and tried not to smile. Harry continued to gently nudge her legs with her own and when she paid him no attention he looked up and shook his head gently, grinning at his potions book. After a moment, he found her gently placing her legs up in between his own.

She then kicked him and he rolled his eyes.

Later on at lunch time, they were with Hermione in the hallways. Her and Harry both sat at the opposite parts of the open walls, eyes flickering between one another and the (for once) clueless Gryffindor girl.

"He must be determined to hide what really happened if Dumbledore couldn't get it out of him," Hermione said in a low voice, "Horcruxes, Horcruxes, I've never even heard of them. ..."

Harry didn't hide his disappointment. "You haven't?"

Aurora was sure she heard about Horcruxes before but couldn't place on where she read them. It wrecked her mind all weekend long but she couldn't place on what they were. She didn't tell them this because she didn't want to give him hope.
