"Ummm...2?" You answered unsure of what to rate it since the pain was already starting to fade.
"I will scan you now." The robot does a quick scan a picture of the human body appears on his big belly, "you have a slight epidermal abrasion on your forearm. I suggest an antibacterial spray." He waddles forward and softly grabs your left arm and sprays the antibacterial on your left forearm out of his index finger. After he sprays your arm, you walk around and examine the robot, prodding it's squishy body.
"Vinyl." You look at its face and inspect it. "Hyperspectral cameras, cool!" You proceed to stuff your face into its belly. "Carbon fiber skeleton and awesome aculators, impressive! You built this in this lab? Awesome!"
"Yep, can lift over 1,000 pounds and has over 10,000 medical procedures in," he taps a little circle on the top left of his marshmallow body, "here." You see a mint green ship and a red chip.
"But..I didn't make Baymax." You look at him confused and you raise an eyebrow, hoping for an explanation. "My brother created the original bot, but then the original bot got... lost. Thankfully the medical chip was able to be retrieved. That chip was basically Tadashi's last works."
"But, then what's the red chip for?"
"Karate. It's surprisingly awesome to see a non-threatening robot chop blocks of wood in half." You pay no attention to the distressed look on his face. When it seems like you had bought it, he relaxes slightly.
"You have been a good girl. Have a lollipop!"
You smile at the robot and take the lollipop, that literally appeared out of nowhere, tear off the wrapper, and stick the lollipop in your mouth.
"I cannot deactivate until you say you are satisfied with your care."
"Well then, I am satisfied with my care!" You say. Baymax immediately waddles back to the station and deflates and is back into a little red looking box. You look at Hiro in wonderment. Then, skeptically.
"That head is perfect for that helmet I found in your room. Is that your friend?" Hiro looks at you worriedly. An awkward silence ensues. Then, before he's about to say something, GoGo bursts into his lab and says, "It's go time, Hiro!" Hiro looks relieved to be away from the awkward silence and grabs Baymax's box. He looks at you with an apologetic look. "Sorry, Kayda. I have some important business to attend to." He leaves with Baymax's red case and GoGo, who rushes him out of the room. You want to follow him and find out what 'go time' means, but you could end up ruining your new friendship; you also didn't want to mess up whatever 'go time' meant. Besides you still had to find an idea for a project and improve it and all that jazz. You head back to your lab.
When it's 7 on a freaking Friday. You trudge towards the exit, exhausted. Honey Lemon was somehow still full of energy and was testing out some stuff that was exploding. Safely, of course. Just some metal embrittlement or something similar to that. GoGo was building a new magnetic wheel for her already super fast bike. Wasabi was organizing a tool table. You think he has OCD. When Fred comes into the room and checks out a wrench on the tool table. Wasabi practically shrieks, which you can hear across the room, and grabs it back with a gloved hand and cleans it with a disinfectant wipes. He then places it back onto a lined version of it on the table. He's definitely got OCD. Perhaps he's also a germaphobe.
"Heeeeyyy! Little Dragon! Where are you going?" Fred asks while slumping onto chair and grabbing a comic. You smile at him, "Too much work for my tiny body today. Coming with a good idea that seems plausible and then drawing up plans for it," you let out a yawn. "Is super hard. I'm just super tired. I'm heading home to eat dinner. Then, sleep."
"Why don't you get Hiro to walk you home? He lives close by you, right?" GoGo is by your side, asking your exhausted form.
"Sure." GoGo retrieves Hiro and has to scold him before he gives up trying to go back to his lab and finish his project. At least that's what you're guessing what they are doing. You were pretty tired and were letting out several yawns. You eyes were basically half closed when you feel someone holding your hand and leading you towards your home.
When you arrive at your house, the warm hand disappears and your hand feels cold in the crisp, night air. You wave goodbye and enter your house. Your parents were avoiding you and you weren't surprised to see that they hadn't cooked you dinner. You can't cook because you would cause a huge mess, so you settled for some fruit and head upstairs to change and brush your teeth. But, unsurprisingly, the moment you settle down into your bed you're wide awake and thinking. It was probably a good 30 minutes before you stopped thinking properly and drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
A month later
All you could feel was pain as Janya continuously kicked you in the stomach and ribs with her sneakers. Her hard sneakers. The bell rang and Janya left. But you couldn't move. It hurt too much. At least all it would leave would be dark, purple bruises. A moment later, you finally find the strength to push yourself off the bathroom floors. And you brush any remaining dust on you and you wash your face; you were about ready to walk to class late. Well, at least until Tiffany's curly brown hair walked into the bathroom and spotted you.
"Oh, YOU'RE here. I wish wastes of space like you would just kill yourselves. After all, you could report us to the principal, but since you're so scared of being a tattletale, you stay quite like the piece of trash you are. Why don't you do us a favor and crush your will to live and just go kill yourself." She complains, not batting you an eye, as she fixed the cake of dark makeup on her face. Just as she finishes her makeup, she walks over to you towering over your 5ft form in her monstrous heels and just 18-year old tallness.
"I hate you. And everyone else does too," she goes to leave, but as she reaches the doorway, she stops and says, "Even your parents." And with that she leaves. Tears stream down your face as you try to control the tears, failing, and the words ring in your head. You can't stay in here in the open, so you go to a bathroom stall and sit on the toilet and sob quietly for the rest of the school day.
You wake up to the annoying alarm clock with your face wet with tears and your eyes red and puffy. You sigh. She's not even wrong. My parents only loved me because I was pretty and could support them very well in the future. I hate her. At least Janya only physically hurt me and Alice had somewhat of a heart, but Tiffany just....hated me. Why though? You don't want to think about it, and you're just glad she's still back there. The place that gave you so many bad memories in your high school experience. You get up, she wasn't entirely right. Hiro loves me truly, but not in a romantic way, you brush your teeth. I wish he liked me romantically. You change into a red shirt, black pants, and black sweater, stupid butterflies. You eat your cereal, put on your sneakers, and walk in the direction of the Lucky Cat Café. Going to the store in the morning to help Aunt Cass set up and frost, glaze, sprinkle became a regular routine for you. Then, taking a few donuts or cupcakes for a snack in a plastic container (which you returned right before work) for a quick snack and walking to college became a regular thing for you in the morning. Then, everyday, you swear, when a student of the college saw you and Hiro together, they would tease you two about being a couple. And then, you both would blush furiously and walk away from them.
Can't a 15-year old boy and a now 14-year old girl be friends in a adult-filled technical college?
Apparently not.
