jisung finally stepped out the backroom just as doyoung walked though the door.

he noticed donghyuck come in from the bathroom.
what jisung also noticed was donghyuck trying to hide an irritated expression, which he guessed was directed at doyoung.

"who hasn't come in yet? i know i saw jaemin skating in the parking lot, so..."
doyoung asked donghyuck.

in that moment, jaemin had rolled his way back inside, closing the door behind him.

"mark said he's coming in late," donghyuck replied. "he texted me, so.."
jaemin scoffed.

"of course he texted you." he teased, earning a scowl from donghyuck.

"as for the others," donghyuck continued slowly. "i have no clue."

doyoung sighed deeply, as he placed his keys on the countertop. he met eyes with jisung briefly.
"oh, good. you're here."
doyoung turned to jaemin and donghyuck again.

"this is our new employee, jisung. he's gonna be working the drive thru. so..."
he pointed to jaemin.
"jaemin, better take off those skates. because you're working drive thru."

jaemin sighed, already gliding over to a chair.
"alright... i'll be right with you jisung."

jisung nodded in response,
still standing there awkwardly.

"right,"
doyoung clapped his hands together,
rubbing them together for warmth.
he then started to make his way behind the counter.
"if any of you need me, i'll be in the backroom."

as soon as they all heard the backroom door slam shut, donghyuck started to groan out of annoyance.

"w-what's wrong–?"

"of course he had to come in today!"
donghyuck started to complain.
"can't wait for him to roast me for my customer service skills yet again!"

"oh?"
jisung wasn't exactly sure how to respond to that.
sure, doyoung seemed a but scary to him,
but jisung will always be grateful that he hired him.

after all, he really did need this job.

"well, hyyck..."
jaemin stood up, skates in hand.
"maybe if you actually improve on it, he'll stop nagging you."

donghyuck scoffed as he rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest.
"you're telling me that i have to be nice to people that won't be nice back? yeah, okay!"

jaemin just kissed his teeth,
shaking his head as he headed to the backroom.
"i just gotta put these in the backroom and we'll get started. okay, jisung?"

"wha– okay!"

as the door closed again, the entrance door opened once again.
jisung turned his attention as the chimes rang.
at the door were two people in sonic uniform.
he noticed one of them staring, and shifted uncomfortably.
"is this the new employee?"
he asked donghyuck, who just hummed a yes in response.

"yep," he answered with words this time.
"jisung, that's jeno."

jisung shyly waved at the person who was speaking, also known as jeno.
"hi.."

"and this," donghyuck walked over to the other unknown employee.
"this is renjun."

"nice to meet you.."
he started to trail off, his sentence unfinished, as renjun just walked away.

"don't take it personally, dude."
jeno said, patting jisung on theback in a reassuring way.

jisung only nodded, still unsure why he would do it in the first place.

the backroom door opened again, and they all saw jaemin slip out.

when jaemin's eyes fell onto jeno, jisung noticed that he looked slightly flustered.
jisung furrowed his brows in confusion, not really sure as to why he was flustered in the first place.

"jeno." jaemin greeted, trying to put on a smile.

"jaemin.."

"donghyuck..." donghyuck added in jokingly, trying to avoid tension in the room.
"i'm gonna put the open sign up, so let's get working!"
