I have studied anatomy
and the mechanisms
of the cardiology system.
I have seen how blood is pumped
into the veins and arteries
circulating the body.
I have felt the pulses
where the pressure of blood
is the most evident.
I can interpet ECG tracings
And point out irregular hearbeats
Such as atrial fibrillations
And premature ventricular contractions.
I know all about valves
and ventricles
and atriums
Yet I do not understand
how my heart works when I'm with you.
