If I Don't Say It

If I don't say it often enough
It's not because I don't feel it.
I just hide my feelings
        like a bad habit.

I am terrible at being vulnerable.
I hate wearing my heart on my sleeve.

Little fears often get the best of me
And my pride always gets in the way.
I hesitate until it's too late.

I never know the right things to say
but what I can't speak, I draw.
My lines are made of lead, not words.

The things I've made since I met you--
Know that they meant something.
Know that I was thinking about you
       the entire time.

Note: I wrote this on the spur of the moment. I don't know if I'm happy with this one, but here it is.
