Okay so Sam probably ditched the bbq to go to Lukes and I can't find Ash anywhere. Then suddenly as if on cue Sam showed up along with Asher and I was relieved.

"Where were you?! We've been looking all over for you" Sam cried out

"Chill I was just with Adam. I got that kid clueless."

"What happened?" She asked

"I'll tell after tonight. I thought you were at Lukes party?" I asked

"I'm going, but not without you. Don't you miss Luke anyway I mean you guys haven't talked for a while" I think she means ever since he started college.

"Yeah well I've been busy and I got caught up in some stuff"

"Yeah well I didn't think revenge and some bet could get between you and your friends" she spat

"Uh...guys?" Asher said

"What is it Ash? are you going to take her side?"

"No but Adam is coming right your way and I think you guys should stop talking about you know what" he said all in one breath

I looked behind and he was right. Adam was walking towards us and I don't know what to say. Our encounter a few moments ago was already making think and re-think every move I make. By the time he reached my mind was long gone up in the clouds.

"Hey Asher, hello, Samantha is it?" his voice got my head out of the clouds and back where it belongs. what does he want all of a sudden

"Yes, but just call me Sam. The only people that call me Samantha are my grandparents. I gotta go. Luke is expecting me" She gave me a look that said you better not bail on me because Luke wants you not me, you!

"Yeah I gotta go too" Ash dismissed himself

"Ash you're seriously gonna leave me here to suffer. At least wait til I can sneak out with you guys" I said loud enough just so both Ash and Adam can hear me

"Alright I'll wait for you. Just don't take too long" and then he went after Sam

"Wow I guess it's just you and me then huh?" Adam said

"Look Adam I have somewhere to be so can you go .... mingle or whatever" Although I really wasn't in the mood, sho-ing him off really fit the act.

"Jess will you drop it. You think I don't remember?" he let out a breath

"I know I was an asshole to you, I know we were friends I remember how close we were okay? but you giving me this attitude and pretending you don't know me is just..."

"Childish ?" I finished for him

"Well if it makes you feel better I honestly didn't at first. I mean i recognized you but that's it. But I do remember Adam. I remember we were friends, I remember what you did. But I honestly don't have the energy to care anymore" I have him a genuine smile. or at least that's what he thought it was.

"All is forgiven. Can I please go now? I really have somewhere to be and I don't wanna be late" I tilted my head and smiled at him.

He didn't even utter so much as a word so I just left him there standing, alone, shocked.

I went to find Sam and Ash and tried my best to sneak out without getting noticed and succeeded.
